I don’t think there’s an MTP today cause of Olympics.

Fox News Sunday has Ted Cruz on it, he’s a new face on the political scene. I am interested.

Also Face the Nation, now a full hour and looking to kick Meet the Depressed off the air.

Seems the Gregory fellow not doing all that well. Which is fine cause I can’t stand him.

lol

I repeat: The MTP hour seems to be the best of the morning.

[Men's Floor and Pummel Horse and Women's Vault coming up at 8:56 ET. NBC keeps screwing around with the live stream viewers. They finally put up a nice one that shows all the current/scheduled events streaming at http://www.nbcolympics.com/liveextra/index.html ]

She’s 8 years old and I just spent the last four days with her. Since she’s my granddaughter, many would say I am prejudiced.

Well yeah.

Yesterday I took her to her other grandmother’s, who lives down the road a piece from me.

We both pretended we were tourists and proceeded to speed like there were no speed limits, pass four or five cars at a time on the two lane roads, and elbowed everyone else out of our way. Not to mention that on the trip down to her second favorite grandmother I got stuck in what we locals call the Saturday “check-in” traffic but like the tourists, I sat and growled.

We went to a magic show, great. Thursday night we went to, I’m not making this up, A SHAKESPEARE PLAY!

Sweet kid sat through the entire two hour play of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. It was on an outdoor stage. We took a blanket for the ground, a folding chair for Mom-Mom, stuff to drink, games to play before the show, books to read. Those actors, God Bless, had HUGE parts to learn. Should you ask Kaitlyn how she liked it, she smiles and says she liked it but confesses that she didn’t understand a lot of it.

It was no mind because the evening was beautiful, the locale was by the Bay, sweet breezes blew on us and I did quite enjoy.

Friday we did the movies and the play McDonalds like she so loves here with a ton of little tourist kids, insert smile here.

We went to Walmart where Mom-Mom bought the child some school clothes, two outfits, a top, a pair of tennis shoes and dress shoes.

“She takes a size 3 in a shoe,” her mother wrote me. “And be sure to get her a size 9 in outfits as I want her to have some growth room.”

Well we tried on the shoes and they looked awful big to me. Kaitlyn, heh, she can talk your ear off and she’s going on and on about how her mother gets everything right and the shoes are fine. I could NOT find any such thing as a size 9 in children’s clothes. It went 7-8 then some size 10-12....I don’t know what the hey happened to size 9 but according to the sales people there is no such thing. So I had Kaitlyn try on the outfits 10-12 and they fit her perfect.

Other grandmother gets bag of new clothes upon dropping off Kaitlyn (she’s buying Kaitlyn school supplies and backpack because daughter is so poor it makes one weep) and paternal grandmother calls up daughter, says shoes are entirely too big, if I don’t (I being daughter’s mother and purchaser of the gunboats Kaitlyn told me were fine) mind she’ll take them back and exchange. Of course I do not mind....heh. I was skeptical about the size but I figured my daughter knew something I didn’t. Obviously daughter did not know what size her kid takes. Absolutely everything Kaitlyn had to wear in her pink suitcase was too small for her, God Bless...in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Two doting grandmothers shall tend to child we both love.

I had such a wonderful time with her but make no mistake, it’s tiring. We watched “Project Runway” and “What Not to Wear”. This child LOVES fashion shows and don’t forget she got to see Mom-Mom in a fashion show!

Heh.

Other grandmother is having, with her two sisters, what they call “grandparents” week. They too pretend to be tourists, heh. They go up to the beach and I got to smile, they actually get in a hotel’s swimming pool on the Boardwalk. They are also going horseback riding, they are going to see a play...”Cinderella”, and all kinds of activities for a week. The sisters and other grandmother all have their grandchildren for this week.

Myself is only one and Kaitlyn my only grandchild. But she loves to stay with Mom-Mom and I love her. She’s just great company.

One of my candidates for whom I am campaign treasurer stopped by and I introduced him to grandchild. Told him SHE is why I work in politics, to save the republic that she may have the America I had.

Chuck Todd is surely gunning for Gregory’s gig....and he’ll have it in the new year, imho. Not that would make a difference. NBC is a subsidiary of the govt.
