Liberals don't want to jinx it. It terrifies the right. And the press would prefer a nail-biter. But the fact is that finding Romney's path to victory is getting harder every day.
There's a secret lurking behind everything you're reading about the upcoming election, a secret that all political insiders knowâor shouldâbut few are talking about, most likely because it takes the drama out of the whole business. The secret is the electoral college, and the fact is that the more you look at it, the more you come to conclude that Mitt Romney has to draw an inside straight like you've never ever seen in a movie to win this thing. This is especially true now that it seems as if Pennsylvania isn't really up for grabs. Romney's paths to 270 are few.

I don’t look at polls until right before the election. That’s when they get real.
One thing I will definitively say, though, is that PA isn’t a swing state in the presidential race. The LSM always tries to portray it as such, but it hasn’t voted Republican since ‘88.
I think it’s time we put that rumor to rest.
You’re making that up. I never even used the word “critic”.
THere is no doubt that you’re a lefty. Just look at your most recent reply. There is no evaluation of my comments wrt validity - there is only attacks trying to put another on the defensive in order to avoid talking substance. 0bama much?
Listen, folks around here may not think you’re worth the time to engage - I sure don’t - but I have a little extra time this week and lying liberals piss me and everyone off [see 2010 elections and soon to be 2012.]
Here is what you intentionally ignore - again:
1) The nomination process has for all intents and purposes ended and our nominee is decided.
2) 0bama would be FAR worse than our nominee [as evidenced by USSC picks, spending, unilateral disarmament, and marxist economic policies.]
3) Our nominee, while most assuredly not my first choice or many FR posters 1st choice, is definitely not anyone’s last choice - that would be 0bama.
4) Choosing to tear down our nominee has the intent of handing the very worst candidate another for years. Which is what you say you want.
5) If you aren’t happy with our nominee, it’s too late to do anything about it - but next time you can do more to nominate a conservative. Obviously whatever you did before was insufficient.
7) KMA you DUtard
Evidently critical thinking and reading comprehension aren’t your strong suits. Not only am I not a Lefty, I am apparently so far to the right of you on certain issues (gun rights and government-run healthcare, to name two) that you’d have to use binoculars to see me from your middle-of-the-road, Romney-supported position.
Who was your first choice nominee, if it wasn’t Romney? You are so quick to accuse others of not doing enough to get a strong candidate the nomination, so I’d like to hear exactly *which* candidate you backed, if not Romney, and what you did to help that candidate get the nomination.
Not expecting much from a “moderate,” RINO like yourself, but I can ask.
If you are representative of the majority of Republicans, then you are the poster child for the abandonment of conservatism by the Republican Party.
Perhaps it’s time for conservatives to give up on the Republican Party and switch to another Party (e.g., Constitution Party) since the Republican establishment have told us that we are going to have a Massachusetts liberal RINO for Presidential candidate and we have no say in the matter.
Newt. I gave money and made phone calls. Why does it matter who I supported and what I did in your evaluation of the veracity of my comments? It doesn't. It only serves to give you a way to further attack me and avoid the issue - which is that obama is far worse than our nominee. You'll get it soon, I hope.
Why the continuing attacks and name-calling? Can't argue your point without it? lol
Now that I agree with. That is in fact what I have been saying that you have been ignoring. Do something about this unhappy situation in the primary! It's too late now. But for next time, get a good 3rd party candidate OR get a good TEA party candidate to take the R nomination.
I'm glad you're starting to express things the way I see them ... and have been posting.
Newt was my first choice as well, and I donated to his campaign.
Tomasky is delusional.
Don’t call it a comeback, I been here for years. Somebody has to represent FR em Brasil.
