Earlier this week, Harry Reid revealed why Mitt Romney is refusing to release more tax returns: He didn't pay taxes for an entire decade! It almost sounds too crazy to be true, and in fact, Reid is "not certain" that it isn't a total lie. However, he is sure of one thing: "I am not basing this on some figment of my imagination," Reid told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "I have had a number of people tell me that." So we aren't talking about just one anonymous Bain investor, but several people who have seemingly only shared this story with Reid.
In an interview with Nevada reporters on Wednesday, Reid refused to name his sources or back down on his accusation. "I don't think the burden should be on me," he said. "The burden should be on him. He's the one I've alleged has not paid any taxes. Why didn't he release his tax returns?"
A Romney spokesman said Reid's accusation is proof that the Obama campaign will do anything to distract from his economic record, "no matter how baseless, unfounded or demonstrably false their attacks are." Of course, the Romney campaign didn't actually offer new evidence to demonstrate that the claim is untrue.
According to Reid, it's the media's job to get to the bottom of this. "What if he has paid no taxes, like I am saying he hasn't," Reid said. "What if he has all these moneys as we already know ... in the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Swiss banks. I mean, gee whiz, rather than ask me why I should do this, that is a story you should be writing." Looking into Romney's finances? Reporters must be kicking themselves for not thinking of that sooner.

If the person isn't real, Harry Reid is a Liar and is guilty of Slander. I know, Harry has been a Liar for decades.

That 35% only think it’s “somewhat” important. I posted the party break down and Republicans and Independents don’t think it’s important at all. There you have it. I wouldn’t give the libtards anything!
Of course, any real reporter or politician should have enough sense to either check this out before saying or not report it. The trap snaps shut when Romney releases his taxes showing he DID pay a significant tax rate. Reed looks like a liar or an idiot, or both, and the MSM looks even more stupidly partisan than usual.

Thats what they really need to do ... Have a guy in a rabbit suit start shadowing Reid at the public events he has booked during the current recess.
It would annoy the heck out of him, maybe even elicit an outburst. At the very least he needs to know that he can’t spew unverifiable accusations without repercussions.
Then he announced he could fly and jumped out his senate office window... . . . .

I’m not sure what you base that on, the press hates Romney, the American people realize that means he is a good guy. I think Romney will win by the largest margin since Reagan. I sure wish it was Michelle Bachman.
I don’t think it matters who is running against Obama, I think 60% of the people will vote for anybody but Obama. I realize that there are polls that show Obama ahead, if the poll is anywhere but Washington, DC then they are wrong.

Or, let's say we get 5% more votes and Obama gets 5% less. That would mean we get 62 million and he gets 66 million.
Last time that happened was...... well, when Roosevelt shellacked Hoover, he got 52% more votes than had Smith in the last election, and Hoover got 26% fewer votes than in his last election.
I think that's the record for the last couple of centuries ~ and there's nothing near it!
In that 1932 race you actually had 5.5 million voters switch from Hoover to Roosevelt, and an additional 2.2 million show up for the first time as Democrat voters.
That shift entailed wholesale abandonment of the Republican standard by a huge number of people.
Tell me what groups of Democrat voters are going to give up Obama (or just not vote at all) and jump for the otherwise bland and far from charismatic Romney?
I don't see the numbers there, nor the rationale, for a Roosevelt type realignment of the two major coalition parties.

He is giving what is required. I hope Romney doesn’t respond to this silliness and if he does at least wait until October. Better to let them chase their tails and look the fool, then make liars out of them. I’m sure if he really didn’t pay taxes the IRS would be after him.

Romney already released his records in 2008. All he has to do is what Clinton used to do; get an affidavit which says he paid taxes.
Or he could release heavily redacted page 2 of his 1040s showing that money was paid.
