A photograph of U.S. President Barack Obama holding a baseball bat while talking on the phone to Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan was intended to show their close relationship, a White House spokeswoman said, after the photo caused a stir in Turkey.
The two leaders spoke on Monday to discuss the crisis in Syria, after which the photograph of Obama seated at his desk, talking on the phone while holding a bat autographed by black-American baseball great Hank Aaron, was released by the White House.
"The photo reveals from whom our Prime Minister receives orders to rule the country," Metin Lutfi Baydar, a lawmaker with Turkey's main opposition party, the Republican People's Party (CHP), said in a statement. …

You are missing his point. He is pretending to be Tom Cruise’s character in “A Few Good Men”. The guy is one big pretender! I’m sure after he watches a Rocky movie he runs to his bedroom and punches his pillow in slow motion. And when Star Trek playing on movie night at the WH, him and Jay Carney run around with foam Spock ears on, giving each other the dreaded “Vulcan taint pinch”.

It is the reason Obama was holding it and not a Babe Ruth bat, though.

But, back to the subject, if I was a Turk, I’d be very offended. Maybe Hillary pulled out all of the adult supervision from the place. Or, more likely, they were tossed out.

If this was a GOP prez we would have treated to a rant by a
TV shrink waxing analytic about how the US leader is so insecure
he is compelled to resort to manipulating a phalanx-like prop
while on the phone to a fellow leader to compensate for his own
percieved inadequacies, a sex/power dynamic.
