Should someone be fired from their job and threatened with violence, torture, even death because they have an opinion different than yours? Of course not. And yet, that is what Adam M. Smith of Arizona says happened to him.
Adam Smiths life has been turned upside-down in the 36 hours that followed his posting the video of his protest at Chick-fil-A, which involved letting a young, female employee at the drive-thru know what he thinks about the company.

Bingo. Should have a real man clean his clock for picking on the young lady.
Did this guy learn nothing from the Bus Monitor bullies? My God, that was only about a month ago! And yet a grown man still posted a video of himself berating a sweet young lady. Just like those brats posted a video of themselves berating a sweet old lady. Actions have consequences.
And boo-hoo about the death threats. I’ve gotten death threats from friends on Facebook! And all I’ve done is express an opinion on the new Batman movie. We live in a strange world.
Bingo. Should have a real man clean his clock for picking on the young lady.
He also was tying up a business demanding something for free — a glass of water. The only thing that I feel sorry about is that he’s so stupid that he thought he could get away with this stunt. Kudos to his former employer for firing him. He’s not the type of person they should want to represent their business, and they recognized it.

Soon he will be applying to Chick-Fil-A for a job behind the counter. Wonder what CFA will say?
he has a 501(c)

On behalf of Castigar and all FReepers, thank you for clearing that up.
Their our sum things easier to learn better weather we no it or not from more smarter people than I. (have a day :o)
There is a lot of misunderstanding about the Bill of Rights and the First Ammendment right to free speech.
The First Ammendment protects citizens from government restrictions on their free speech. A state or city government official banning a business because he does not agree with the business owner’s biblical beliefs would be a violation of the owner’s first ammendment rights.
The First Ammendment does not protect “free speech” in a non-governmental environment.
It is perfectly legal for a private citizen or private business to place restrictions on the speech of others. A person cannot demand you allow him onto your property so he can berate you or espouse beliefs that offend you.
In this case, Adam Smith’s former employer has a legal right to terminate his employment for conduct they find inappropriate and harmful to their business. There is no First Ammendment protection.
This guy is a bigger loser than Obummer.
Absolutely, if they express their opinion in such a place and manner that it brings public disrepute down upon the employer.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
I’m sorry to hear he’s been threatened. That said, businesses have the right to make sure their C-suite officers aren’t frothing lunatics...especially not frothing lunatics who are stupid enough to capture themselves live on video being frothing lunatics.
Unfortunately, he’s going to get a job easy. There are plenty of Left leaning companies out there who would jump at hiring this guy in their Finance dept.
He was just fired. I don't think he got 1/10 of what he deserved. He went out of his way to abuse a low level Chick-fil-A employee. If he took of time from work to drive to Atlanta and stand in front of Chick-fil-A's corporate offices with a sign -- I could understand... but abusing some poor woman -- that's pointless. He deserves much worse than he's gotten so far.
sn’t The Blaze Glenn Beck’s thing?
Not that Im aware of.

You might try scrolling down the home page and then wonder why this so called “left wing tool” web site has a section dedicated to faith, and links to Glenn Beck Radio and Glenn Beck TV but no others media sources.
Nothing like adding a bit of atheism to the brew being served at the smith residence.
Maybe time for Children Protective Services pay a visit.
He enjoyed an opportunity for self-aggrandizement, and sadistic bullying against a trapped employee who couldn't do anything. He came to the window under false pretenses--asking for a glass of water, so he could unload. He was so proud of himself that he posted a video. He was so cowardly that he then retracted it, unsuccessfully.
His protestation that it is free speech is BS. He was using what he thought was sanctioned public opinion to be a bully just this side of assault. Psychologically, he's the same type that enjoys beating girls in Arabia because their ankles show, or driving them back into a school building on fire because they ran out without their full covering. He's a power tripper.
The leftists who support him don't care about any reality except furthering their pet causes. That's why, when normal people are outraged (a few outrageously outraged) about his conduct, they scream "Free speech! Free Speech! Intolerance!"
If he were my employee, he'd be gone in a minute. Of course, he's mount an employe suit, but I'd do my best to ream him if he did. No recommendations from me--I'd provide his video. If he had any people reporting to you, how do you think he'd treat them?
Those were back in 2009. He was seeking legal help with those properties. He joined Avante in 2010. There’s no indication of his financial status since 2010 that I could find.
Patience is a virtue. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..........
(Thelma and Louise would be proud)
Typos... If he HAD any people reporting to HIM — last sentence.
