A manger in front of a town hall on Christmas, the Ten Commandments on a court house wall, and “public school” teachers teaching from the bible are not examples of the state establishing a religion. This is the fundamental problem with a lot of conservatives today, they've conceded the moral high ground because they believe progressive lies.

If you want the teacher of your kids quoting from the bible, then send them to a private school. If I had a kid in the public school system, I do not want teachers leading prayer sessions even if it’s just one prayer thank you very much.

Those were not examples of the free expression of religion, which was the subject at hand. Nobody made a claim that they were state establishments of religion.
The inability to make logical distinctions might be the fundamental problem with a lot of people.
