A man was kicked off a Spirit Airlines flight atO'Hare International Airport over the weekend after he became "verbally abusive" to flight attendants who asked him to pull up his sagging pants, an airline spokeswoman said.

Yes, this “style” that celebrates prison culture not only makes it more difficult to run from the crime scene and/or the police - but when they reach for their waste to pull of their pants - many get shot because the police think they might be reaching for a gun.
Before you go painting with a wide brush, read the responses. I didn’t say anything about what the reason was. All I said was that it doesn’t matter. This is still America, if you wanna travel on, enter into, or play with someone else’s private property you have to play by there rules, even if you think they are arbitrary, or feel that it is “unfair”, “mean spirited”, or just a manifestation of a “power trip syndrome”.
If the flight attendants did something wrong, I am sure they’ll hear about from their bosses.
Now appropriate clothing is a pretty vague term, but that allows staff some latitude for insufficient coverage, profanity, or offensive messages on clothing.
BUT if he made it through security, what reason did they have for making him pull them up?
Security is run by the government and is staffed by BO sons and such. Spirit is a business and has standards for their passengers to follow

What the hell does TSA have to do with this? TSA was probably pleased that they could touch his junk easier. TSA is not a business with paying customers. If I’d been a Spirit employee, the confrontation wouldn’t have happened on the plane. They would have been turned away at the gate
I will never understand this fad. And it has been around for so long. Kids were doing this even in the 1980s. Do the girls actually find this attractive?

For real. I just have to shrug when I think back to the way it was right up until about the end of the 1970s. People dressed up to go on a plane. Of course, they also dressed up to go to church, to the dentist, etc. We have become such a nation of slobs. Very sad.
The TSA is supposed to be looking for security threats, it is outside of their scope to enforce a dress code.

Think ‘sarcasm’ at best or ‘gallows humor’ at worst but we can settle on a form of satire.
I am aware of the origin, right back to the bill in the back baseball cap but think of the ‘aging, middle age male, KNOWING he now has very distinct ‘beer belly’ even though he hasn’t had a beer for many years, the vanity doesn’t allow the word ‘fat’ nor the very obvious increase in the waist size. Thus, “I still wear a 34 waist”. when one raises an eyebrow or rolls an eye, just say “well there is a 34 down there someplace”.

I heard years ago when the fad first started that it was “ex-convict chic.” Guys who have just gotten out of prison are wearing their old clothes, which don’t fit anymore because of all the gym time. Or possibly because some of them were fat when they went in but didn’t have the same opportunity to overeat behind bars.
There's also a valid reason to think the guy was "underdressed". I've seen many saggy pants wearers who are engaging in indecent exposure. Many.
It's not a stretch to think that one of these made it onto the plane and a private company has a right to speak up about it if it is offensive which it appears this might have been.
I was on a flight where a rapper-type group REFUSED to faaten their seat belts!!!! What a bunch of MORONS....they got kicked off, but their manager stayed on.

You’re right, it’s still America and private property owners have the right to refuse service to those showing their underwear.

The TSA are about security not corporate standards. Do you not understand that the TSA does not run the airlines nor tell them their standards?
Please tell me, since you seem to know, just what the dress code is for the particular airline mentioned in this article.
