Took my two sons to lunch and local CFA that is in ‘burb north of Austin. This particular CFA sits in a strip center that is on a frontage road at the intersection of two major highways. Multiple drive ways lead into the restaurant and every one of them was backed up with traffic. People sitting patiently in their cars trying to find their way into a drive thru line that had multiple spoke inlets and wound around the building. Parking lot was jammed. We parked one parking lot over, as did others. Parking lots surrounding the restaurant were packed. Before we even walked into the door we could see a mob was inside and wow,,the line wound around the inside of the building TWICE and then out the side door. Large families, lots of children,,people were in a GREAT mood,,no one was upset or impatient. The parking lots was extremely busy but calm. No one honking or pushing or screaming. It was like a big party. The staff was actually in a wonderful mood, the place was clean and we were inside a total of 15 mins before we got our food! Even with all that traffic and volume, we got our food right away. People were hugging and high fiving and clapping. The mood was so upbeat and again, I cannot say enough about how friendly and quick the staff were. In the parking lot they had multiple attendants taking orders and taking payment and the line was moving the cars right through. CFA should be incredibly proud of this store today, and proud to stand by their values. BTW - we ordered twice as much food as we needed, just to make a point. We’ll eat it later or give it to the neighbors (except for the cookies, those we’ll keep)! I am so proud of my community today. Truly.
I suspect the restaurants in the area picked up some extra bucks from people who saw the incredible lines at CFA and didn’t have time to negotiate them and wait, so they made choice B.
Hey! food is an event for Texans, not a meal.
