Roger Williams, a former Texas secretary of state who made his name as a prolific GOP fundraiser, is one step closer to a seat in the U.S. House after handily defeating Central Texas Tea Party founder Wes Riddle in the Republican runoff Tuesday.

I voted against Williams because he called and called and called and called and called and called and called and called countless times despite when I could talk to a real person they continued to ignore my request to be put on their no call list. Should have filed on him for it.
I confess I do not know the area or the candidates. And I’m sure the Tea Party candidate would be a great representative in Congress.
But what is the problem with Roger Williams? His Issues page seems to line up pretty well, and if he’s a car dealer, he’s not really an “insider,” is he?
Here’s his issues page: http://www.rogerforcongress.com/issues
Again, don’t crucify, as I truly was not following this race.
It doesn’t matter. You have to vote for anyone who is associated with the term “Tea.”
No matter who they are or what they’ve done. You must vote “Tea” just like RINO’s must vote for the establishment. It’s a rule.
The Taxed Enough Already movement is not a party and as soon as people started claiming chairmanships and president titles of a “Tea Party” it had its first bite from the political hack organizational vampires.
They won’t all vote our way but we still push for setting the changing tone for the GOP. Either defend conservatism in Tea Party fashion or we fight against them as a dreaded RINO. No holds barred anymore.
Great post. Some readers here may miss the sarcasm.....
Williams will be ok on many issues, more conservative than many in Congress, but he is a connected GOP insider of the ilk of Dewhurst. He’ll be one of Boehner’s boys - don’t rock the boat, kick the hard decisions down the road, look for your chance to cash in.
We lost a true champion for the cause of Constitutionally limited government in Riddle. I hope he runs again.
Thanks for the link. Time and action will tell, but he sounds like one of us.
I am certain, sam, we disagree about a lot of stuff...but you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ON in this post.
You cannot be the president, founder, chairman or any other position of an idea. TEA Party is an idea and ideology.
LLS
Is Riddle an actual constitutional conservative, or is he a Paulite? Inthink there’s a HUGE difference. Ted Cruz is the prototype of a constitutional conservative, and you can bet he won’t vote with Democrats almost half the time like Ron Paul does.
“Filed on him” for what? None of the do not call laws apply to political calls.
We absolutely must resurrect and reinforce our Constitution.
I’ll go out even further on the limb on these “Founders of the ____ Chapter of the Tea Party”! =)
I think the true founder of the “Tea Party” is Baraka Hussein Obama.
He’s the one who truly precipitated the movement with the bailouts which predated Santelli’s rant.
A warning worth repeating.
WI GOP could've picked up a state senate seat but the "Tea Party" candidate had massive tax problems. Other examples abound.
Post of the day!...
Barak Hussein Obama is the founder of the Tea Party!
We’ve had fraud Tea Party web sites in my state (money collection fraud), so there are going to be fake Tea candidates out there as well. Don’t be lazy; do your research.
I know.
Just wait until we all start getting 47 thousand calls from Hussein.
