I don’t know why everybody wants to rob the Congress of one of our best leaders and thinkers.
Col. West should be Speaker of the House. He would have some real power there, and not be the silent figurehead of a VP.

Exactly. And that applies to any other of the really effective elected congress people. The Vice President has a role that is determined by the President and because I like a particular aspect of many of the VP aspirants does not mean they would be helpful to the goals of the President they would serve with. Also, it seems to me that given the closness, supposedly, of this race, the electoral college aspect of winning in Nov is all important. Romney is goal oriented and he needs a VP candidate who can help him achieve those goals as well as add to the possible winning of the electoral votes needed. I still favor a more flamboyant VP like Chris Christy to generate the excitement and energy that translates into a very interesting and winning campaign. Not knowing all of the pros and cons of Christy or any other preference I have leaves me trusting the selection entirely to the Romney teams judgement.
