The White House called Monday on Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney to explain recent remarks including his apparent endorsement of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, a position that counters U.S. policy.
Romney, in the midst of a three-nation tour, gave a speech Sunday in Jerusalem where he hailed the city as “the capital of Israel,” in apparent support of a position held by the Jewish state but never accepted by the global community.
The comment was swiftly rejected by Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat as “unacceptable” and “harmful to American interests in our region.”
But after Romney made fresh controversial statements Monday to donors in Jerusalem including suggesting Israeli “culture” helped explain the country’s economic success -- a position Erakat denounced as “racist” -- President Barack Obama’s office urged Romney to clarify his comments.

Gee, “White House”, someone asked your “Official Press Secretary” just a few days ago, “What is the Capitol of Israel?”

“Umm, you know what our answer to that question is.”
Looks like Romney took a wild guess and the “White House” is not happy with his answer. (The White House speaks? Wow, I’ve always heard the expression “If Walls could Talk”, but Man, a whole HOUSE talking!)

Answer:
“Mr. President, American policy, you are in violation of it as per congressional law recognizing Jerusalem as such. Your refusal to follow the law or confine your proclamations to powers granted to you by our Constitution are meaningless. It’s up to the sovereign state of Israel to determine it’s capitol, not you.”
“I opened my mouth and talked to the Israelis. But that’s not important right now.”
Mitt Romney is a private citizen and doesn’t have to explain his words to anyone in Mordor.

Romney was RIGHT to do this, the US Congress ALREADY said the same thing, years ago, and every country has a right to decide for itself where the Capital might be.
You are not seeing this clearly. Even if you don't like Romney, the man was right this time, and you diminish yourself by taking shots at him.
Obama is trying to destroy Israel without losing Jewish votes at home.
Romney is calling Obama on Obama’s shameful record and on Obama’s cowardice and Obama’s allegiance to radical Palestinians.
