Northern India's power grid crashed Monday, halting trains, forcing hospitals and airports onto backup power and providing a dark reminder of the nation's inability to feed a growing hunger for energy as it strives to become an economic power.
While the midsummer outage was unique in its reach - it hit 370 million people, more than the population of the United States and Canada combined - its impact was softened by Indians' familiarity with almost daily blackouts of varying duration. Hospitals and major businesses have backup generators that seamlessly kick in during power cuts, and upscale homes are hooked to backup systems powered by truck batteries.
Nonetheless, some small businesses were forced to shut for the day. Buildings were without water because the pumps weren't working, and the vaunted New Delhi Metro, with 1.8 million daily riders, was paralyzed during the busy morning commute.
"This will obviously get worse," said Subhash Chawla, a 65-year-old retiree who took the Metro once power was restored. "Unless the Metro has a separate power supply, it will be chaos in the future."
The grid feeds the nation's breadbasket in Punjab, the war-wracked region of Kashmir, the burgeoning capital of New Delhi, the Dalai Lama's Himalayan headquarters in Dharmsala, and the world's most populous state, poverty-stricken Uttar Pradesh.

OMG, that is awful. It makes it very hard to love India but I do. I don’t know, but I expect that it costs a certain amount of rupees to have the Brahmins that run the cremation services along the banks (same family for like a thousand years) dispose of the body. If you do not have the rupees to have a proper cremation, the next best thing is to be buried in the waters of the Holy Ganga. But it’s sick - imagine if you could stop all that and make the Ganges sweet and clean...
The “master race of clean, white people from Europe” came to Europe from India. Perhaps this is why I feel some kinship to them. No matter their color, their features are familiar, unlike the far easterners. And Sanskrit is the original mother tongue, long before Greek and Latin.

As far as what other cultures may or may not have been in the past, it is just that in the past and in 2012 this behavior is 100% unacceptable.

Problem is, how do you tell *where* things come from anymore? Especially medical supplies, which aren’t required to be labeled, “country of origin”? Between the sewers of India and China, First World America has been thoroughly-infiltrated and infected by The Turd World, literally.

What is available with minimal research is companies who use India for drug studies. Any drug which was studied in India should be highly suspect with what we saw in the video and the FACT they had been caught using people who were taking part in multiple drug tests just to earn money. The results of all those tests are totally bogus.
