Sooner or later they will get it right, but they really don’t have any better idea about what we will get than I do.
Actually, once upon a time, they "did" have a reasonable (and improving) track record. Unfortunately, their premier modeller/predictor said that AGW was BS and not reflected in the appearance of more hurricanes or other weather. He was forced into retirement.

Several years ago it was found that the hurricane forecasters were just guessing as to how many hurricanes there would be in a year.
Yet they are still taken as gospel by some.
Right now we could use some hurricane rains here.
