Can you check your “History”?
Our business had 131 employees 4 years ago, but because of Obamacare and other uncertainties, we now have 44. Other business people in our community are doing the same thing. It’s disgusting to see this happening.
Not to argue but Dr. Art Laffer explained the problem was a delay in putting everything in place. He said the delay caused almost a two year delay in the effects. I don’t remember whether Laffer blamed the Reagan team or himself. I do remember Laffer saying he didn’t push it as he should have done, looking at it in hind sight.
But you’re right on the market not changing that fast. Officially it took longer. I was remembering some business owners I know and a stock broker who all said the change created a great opportunity and those guys all invested pretty quickly.
I addressed why, as I understood it. I was wrong in my posting and I appreciate everyone who corrected me.
Crap. Another mistake. I may go back to drinking coffee.
When Mitt wins, I'll be reevaluating. The economy will roar with sidelined cash in play, and the energy flowing !
100 more days....followed by the one hell of a lame duck session, I worry.
At our local Church here in Houston, 20% of the parishioners contribute 95% of the money that supports the parish.
The Mexicans who have their own Spanish mass at 1:00 PM on Sunday put very little into the collection plate.
The Nigerians, most of whom habitually arrive late and well dressed, also put very little into the collection plate.
The current Priest has done a very good job of reducing the parish debt. I wish him well.
Only way to keep from making mistakes is to not do anything at all.
The trick is to never repeat that mistake.
(Them’s words of wisdom from my dear ol’ Dad. BTW, he was seldom seen without a cup of coffee, being a good old Norwegian.)
Interesting (and frightening). Thank for the info.
I understand what this article says and why it might be right. But it might also be wrong for numerous reasons. I’d like to see an audit of the fed to begin with and then let Ron Paul and others debate the reasoning of what to change and the effects of such a change.
He clearly is more comfortable, too, when with his better half.....and she may well indeed be a better half. Ann will be an asset.
I'm not displeased with what I'm hearing, or seeing from the Romneys. I guess that's safe to say here, now that the primary is over.
Good idea. I probably should.
Coffee only goes so far,(although Starbucks is pretty good stuff)I’m still amazed that it wasn’t me that screwed up for a change.
I’m gonna miss Batman toady, maybe late on in the week.
Thanks I gotta read that book. Looks like a possible treasure trove.
I like the nuggets, and the noodle soup.
Small Businesses Responsible for Nearly All New Jobs
Aug 16, 2007
“Businesses with fewer than 20 employees account for 90 percent of all U.S. firms and are responsible for more than 97 percent of all new jobs, according to a new report by the Small Business Administration.”
After 15 months not drinking coffee, I’m starting slow. Just on weekends.
Starbucks? That stuff is poison! I’ve had two cups of it a and I almost died because it was so strong.
Batman?
I hate it when articles like this are not dated. FYI, I did look around and found this was written August 16, 2007.
Wow, that is huge. What industry are you in and what has he done to damage it?
