Nonetheless, what a tragic unnecessary pair of deaths that are truly nothing short of murder, due to criminal negligence. You have expressed your opinion. Allow me to express mine.
It's a dog. NOT a human. Therefore it is NOT murder. It is perhaps animal negligence, maybe even animal cruelty. But it is NOT murder.
Havent we been told all along that a police dog is an officer and the consequences for harming one are the same as harming a patrolman or trooper?
Hmm, never heard that put in quite the same language. I understand your particular feelings for the animals, and I appreciate the bond that forms between the officer and his dog. But that doesn't change the fact that this is a dog, not a human.
The definition of murder:
Unlawful
killing
of a human
by another human
with malice aforethought.
I think it is dangerous to use terms that inflame or incite those in an attempt to manipulate the act and the punishment that may be meted out.
It is a shame when two valuable resources of law enforcement are lost. I am saddened when a expensive police helicopter is lost or damaged in a crash. But murder? IMHO, this is not a murder. It is a loss of a valuable resource, and should be addressed and punished appropriately.

So you've never heard of the laws that charge a criminal with battery/murder should they shoot or stab or otherwise kill a k-9 police dog?
I guess you need to start making some phone calls to your legislators to get those laws repealed.

You're opinion would probably impress most "pro-choice" people and make them happy to hear you utilize one of their memes.
The last time I checked a "police helicopter" doesn't learn, think, feel pain, breath, eat, drink.....etc. So you're equation of one "tool" to the other is most definitley your "opinion". But then again, those are the traits that pro-choice people like to say babies in the womb don't have either.

Based on your "opinion" as well as your tag line, I'd say you may want to go ahead and start working on getting all animal cruelty laws repealed so you and Michael Vick and open up a nice little dogfighting ring and make some good money with your "tools and resources".
