Jerry Sandusky case: Lawyers say they've found Victim 2, the boy Mike McQueary saw being molested

Victim 2, the boy who was, until now, known to exist only because Mike McQueary saw him being molested by Jerry Sandusky in a Penn State shower in 2001, has come forward to two State College lawyers.

Andrew Shubin and Justine Andronici, two lawyers who launched their own investigation into Sandusky's activities over the last four decades -- and the reactions of people around him -- say that Victim 2 has identified himself to them.

As part of the investigation, they acquired voicemails from Sandusky to the man, and released those on www. rossfellercasey.com, the website of the Philadelphia law firm they are working with.

In both, Sandusky ends the message with "love you."

They released a statement that reads, in part:

"Our client suffered extensive sexual abuse over many years both before and after the 2001 incident Michael McQueary witnessed in the Penn State Lasch building shower.

"Penn State has now admitted and there is no longer any question that its top officials could have and should have prevented these acts.

"Jerry Sandusky's abuse of Victim 2 and other children is a direct result of a conspiracy to conceal Sandusky's conduct and the decisions by top Penn State officials that facilitated and enabled his access to victims.

Over the years Sandusky’s behavior had to be talked about in the locker rooms, and boys on the team had to warn one another. But they kept quiet too. Don’t tell me they didn’t have some knowledge. And, so, Sandusky continued. The players continued to play, the college continued to reap in the $$$ benefits, and the players continued to be honored. No one wanted to give up anything for the sake of being forthright and moral and speaking up about the crimes being committed by Sandusky. No one wanted their own record harmed by not having a chance to play and win.

Supposition.

Got any proof of this?

Go back and read what you just wrote— Is the Business responsible or the person? Everyone knows that Pedturnose was a criminal but you don’t fire everyone and close the doors of a business!!! You fire PedTurnose and PLAY ON!!!What did the football team have to do with this? There was no benefit to them at all!!! To have Pedturnose cover for an old retired coach?? How does that benefit the team? What a freaking joke this is. What we have here is a total fiasco and the lawyers for Ped State should be sued real bad. What a panic these idiots made a decision in. A BAD DECISION! The entire administration should be fired for WEAKNESS!@!!

Actually Paterno was OK with Sandusky attempting to set up a football program at Penn State-Altoona....it didn’t happen, and it wasn’t clear to me from the Freeh report why there was a short “window of opportunity.”

Paterno knew that he couldn’t keep Sandusky a complete secret forever? (Just a guess on my part)

Also the Freeh report noted it was unusual for an assistant coach emeritus to be given keys to the weight room and such.
So PSU was OK with bringing his boy toys on campus too. The assistant coach emeritus thing must have given them what they thought would be plausible deniability.

I will give you a “Get a grip, football is only a game” instead.
This is appropriate.
The coaching staff is every bit as much a part of the program as the player.
Part of the student body rioted and destroyed vehicles downtown when Paterno was fired, even though there was already peblic evidence to show he had lied before a grand jury and damned well needed to be fired.

A game isn’t of much import up against maintaining a boundry that raping children is intolerable. No matter who you are. You don’t do it, and you never let someone who does hide it.

Football is just a game.

Repeat that to yourself when you go to bed every night for a month, until you fall asleep.

All I did was ask what your solution would be. Where the “coach murdering his wife” came from, I have no idea. I wasn’t being confrontational at all. I simply wanted to know what your solution to this situation would be if not some sort of punishment for the university.

Also, I think you need to calm down. :-)

However, to answer the broader question...if the university was not somehow punished then wouldn’t that tell all of the other insitutions of higher-learning that the tolerating of pedophiles/the covering-up of pedophilia is OK?

No. Here is what you do. You put the pedophile and anyone who knows about the abomination in prison. Right? NOT THE UNIVERSITY THEY HAD RETIRED FROM. Holy cow!!! Wake up!!

There is no baby here. Zero things that even show up on the radar.

A few young men wont get to play a kids game on weekends in goofy uniforms.

Other people won’t get to watch them.

The people at the university on charge of the stadium, the training, and the entire university did something really really bad.

So less silly kids games for a while.

No tragedy.

No baby.

The bathwater was empty

Hysteria??

You are kidding right?

Penn State, the very upper echelons of the administration, KNEW what Sandusky had, was and was going to continue doing, and in order to protect their program, knowingly chose to cover it up and allow him to continue to do it all so they could continue to play football. Period, that’s what they did.

Now the NCAA basically has said, hey, its okay, you can protect child molestors and let them keep on doign what they do, not turn it over to police, and hell keep letting them use your facilities to do it in on top of all that, just so you can keep playing sports under our Banner.. and that’s okay with us. Just pay us some money, give up so records and no bowls for 4 years.

That’s exactly what the NCAA has said, they have said EVEN KNOWINGLY PROTECTING AN ACTIVE PEDOPHILE BY YOUR COLLEGE IN ORDER TO PLAY OUR SPORTS is okay, just as long as you pay some $$... The NCAA are a bunch of whores.

How any ruling body, can say, you did this, you did this in order to protect your sports program and continue to play sports under our ruling body, and we’ll let you keep doing that even though it was systemic and involved the administration up and down, but hey, its okay you can still play under our banner. That’s cowardice.

Even pedophilia is not enough for the NCAA to do what is right, I know I would never again let any ogranization that engaged in such behavior EVER engage in any activity under my banner ever again.

Do you think if the CEO of GE would keep his job and keep working if he had done this? Would GE say, hey just pay us a few Million, vacate your stock options for the last 10 years, and you know what, no corporate paid trips to hawaii for 4 years. Do you think that’s adequate punishment? Because that’s EXACTLY what NCAA has done, and you try to claim is “SEVERE”.

There is nothing SEVERE about what the NCAA did, they copped out. They are whores, nothing more.

Read up on the Boston Archdiocese child rape cases and Cardinal Law. S.O.P.

This is deja-vu all over again.

Except that this went before the law enforcement authorities in 1998 and the DA chose not to prosecute.

Was there some reason that the name of the DA [Ray Gricar] in the 1998 incident along with his mysterious disappearance in 2005 was left out of Freeh's report.

Apparently this Sandusky Grand Jury was empanelled by Attorney General Corbett in 2008 when he was a Board Member of Penn State. What does that tell you???

Priest were reported to law enforcement. The police didn't believe the victims since they were “troubled” kids and the priest were holy men.

Same thing happened at Penn. State. Who do you believe, the “trouble” kid or the revered football coach hailing from the glorious Penn State.

The Cardinal sent the priests to therapy and “retired” the problem priests. The problem priests still walked around with a collar and gained access to children although they were not acting officially on behalf of the church. The Cardinal said he didn't know what else to do.
