Communists who attempt to create a “perfect” society typically run up huge body counts in the process. There is no perfection in this world.

"That our union may not be perfect, but it is perfectible."

Straight out of Marx I believe.

Perfecting the "union" requires perfecting it's members. Hitler had that goal as well and you know how that worked out. Lenin and Stalin had a similar solution: just kill off those who don't accept your system and slowly but surely the populace and the "union" will be "perfected". Well that didn't work out either.

Humans aren't perfectible. Liberals believe they are and they believe they have the necessary knowledge to guide us to that perfection. In fact they have demonstrated time and again a tragic lack of a basic understanding of human nature and human motivation. Obama is just the latest example of that failure. And our nation is poorer as a result. Four more years of Obama will make us poorer yet.

Hey Hussein - The longer YOU'RE running it, the LESS I want to be a part of it!

“...but it is perfectible.”

Utopia?

“Totalitarianism is not only hell, but all the dream of paradise— the age-old dream of a world where everybody would live in harmony, united by a single common will and faith, without secrets from one another. Andre Breton, too, dreamed of this paradise when he talked about the glass house in which he longed to live. If totalitarianism did not exploit these archetypes, which are deep inside us all and rooted deep in all religions, it could never attract so many people, especially during the early phases of its existence. Once the dream of paradise starts to turn into reality, however, here and there people begin to crop up who stand in its way. and so the rulers of paradise must build a little gulag on the side of Eden. In the course of time this gulag grows ever bigger and more perfect, while the adjoining paradise gets even smaller and poorer.”
...Milan Kundera

So, has 0bama found a way to make angels of men? Oh goody... James Madison would be so proud of him.

If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.

Mere words can not express my contempt and disdain for this failed, marxist, pusillanimous pustule of a community organizer who somehow managed, with deceit and manipulation of people’s basest emotions, the position of “Leader of the Free World”.

I am so DISGUSTED.

Another spectacularly self-revealing blunder by 0. The perfectibility of society is at the core of such socialist/leftist dogma as the Port Huron Statement, which was a major milestone on the path of the Students for a Democratic Society and similar radical organizations that led to campus violence, draft dodging, anti-war agitation and ultimately, America’s humiliating loss of Vietnam.

One can draw another connecting line on the chart showing Obama’s web of connections with socialist radical ideology, groups and individuals straight from his latest comments and back to Port Huron, SDS and what he really means when he says “we want to fundamentally change the United States”. Another connection? SDS leader, Weather Underground terrorist and Obama pal, Bill Ayers.

The only specific community organizing I’ve ever heard Obama talk about was when he ran a jobs fair, to which not a single person showed up, even though youths were playing basketball on the street outside.

I’d love to see the list of his greatest achievements as a community organizer.

"What Is Perfection?" "By Whose Standard?"

Pol Pot's "Year Zero", perhaps?

Zerobama-Nomics has this country well on the road to a peasant economy, and Zerobama "care" will remove those pesky unborn, sick and elderly who dare to clutter up Obama-Topia.

Religion is under direct assault, and under Zero's reign, the US Constitution is being "perfected" (aka ignored).

God help America.

"Thinking that human institutions can be perfected is a sign of godlessness."

Holy carp, first reply nailed it. A demonstrable sign of godlessness.

The equivalent of dusting off Tim McVeigh or Major Hassan and turning them into "respected" professors and presidential pals.

Unbelievable.

Let me guess: We just need four more years of 0blama and implementation of 0bammiecare, then it’ll be perfect. All those others who’ve tried this marxist experiment just didn’t do it right; THIS time for sure!

Perfect b.s.

I’d love to see the list of his greatest achievements as a community organizer.

He threatened to sue Citibank for redlining mortgages.

Then we had the housing bubble.

Thanks Obama!
