This Week - the Crown Royal 400 at the Brickyard
Click for Nascar race & news threads at FR Indianapolis Motor Speedway Race Menu for the weekend series While Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the most popular racetrack in the Hoosier State, the vast majority of motorsports events held in Indianapolis are held at O'Reilly Raceway Park, including a Craftsman Truck Series race and a Busch Series event. Drag racing, road racing, Sprint Car races and other events suited to a shorter track fall to ORP, which changed its name from Indianapolis Raceway Park in 2006. You can also usually find a large racing program there on the night before the Indianapolis 500. The annual NHRA U.S. Nationals are traditionally held there on Labor Day weekend and SCCA events are held on the park's road course.

Indy week-end race thread is Up Ping!
Single file no pass racing at its finest! Prediction: Newman takes the pole and leads every lap.
This race is also called the BRickyard 400 and has been a regular Cup stop since 1994 , Flash Gordon won the inaugural race.
In before Blenderville and Dos Yappin’ Dogs!!!
We got 3 big days here of racing.
If you believe the weather gurus, the temp is gonna plunge from 100 to 88 by Sunday.
Sports cars on Friday, first time for Nationwide on the big track Saturday, and Cup on Sunday.
Personally I’m p*ssed that they moved the Nationwide from IRP to IMS. That was a fantastic place to watch stock cars.
No,wait....
Bring your good valve springs because this is one place where they really wind them out long and hard.
I’d love to see one of the Rousch boys get the win and no I dont believe in unicorns.
Smoke lookin’ for win #3 at Indy and #4 for the season . Go Tony !!!!
I would have been in first if the FR server had’t got hung up
Having finally driven one of these cars, I have a new respect for these guys running that many laps in this summer heat. But man was it fun!!!
I have been to Indy twice, first the 1991 Indy 500 and 2nd the 2002 F1 GP. The Road course going the opposite direction around the track is very challenging. The Friday race should be interseting and the other races are also different being so different from the other NASCAR tracks.
What is the normal attrition rate for Nascar engines at Indy?
OK, I woulda been 2nd but I was too busy yapping and howling. To answer your question, Mr. tubebender, sir, it depends upon who and what. The 42 has had some fun this year as well as the 18. Several drivers have gone up in smoke (an old Cheech and Chong movie currently starring A.J. Allmindinger) and Rootie has had his share of issues. KK, Carl & Flash, Ragan + Denny are also a few others that have had engine failures this year.
It’s already Thursday; I’ve lost track of time. Dog days of summer and with a week off I’ve lost my mo-jo. I’ll check the floor of the kennel and the neighbor’s lawn to see if I left it there.
I see you need a renewal of your Rabies Vaccine...
The only vet I want to see is one waving the stars and bars. My luck I’ll get one wearing a t-shirt that says “I pooped today”
I need to check out when practice and qualifying times are. I also wish my TV emitted a burnt Sunoco fuel smell and that I had a unicorn.
