It was a Joe Gibbs Racing kind of day in qualifying, as its drivers took three of the first seven spots on the starting grid. Denny Hamlin will start from the pole, followed by Joey Logano in third and Kyle Busch in seventh.
Overall, the top five consisted of Hamlin, Carl Edwards, Logano, Aric Almirola and Greg Biffle, while Jimmie Johnson, Busch, Paul Menard, Jeff Gordon and Mat Kenseth rounded out the top 10.
Reed Sorenson, Joe Nemechek and Michael McDowell failed to qualify for the event.

Kudos to the first person who can get Ron Howard to say, “Poor Horatio!”
Yee-haw! Checking in when I can. Grandkids here today as son and his wife pack for a move closer to us.
BTW bummed out. Spent the morning trying to install the new steering gear on our Durango. It’s turned into an all summer project. Now it’s going to take longer because the knurling on the steering gear has a defective section....AAARRRAAAAUUUUGGGGHHHH!
It’s minor but prevents the pitman arm from sliding on easily.
Have to find the receipt for an exchange or do some minor filing. Not sure which is easier.
and their off!!!
Hambone leads Lap 1 but Flipper looks strong.
I hate when my knurling is defective. Hang in there.
Great start! Hamlin, Johnson, Edwards on lap 5.
They lucked out with weather.. They’d all be puffing like steam engines if the temp was over 100
P-6... You’ve been saying that for the past 3 races?
Cousin Carl is Cussin...
Flipper has an issue.. ouch.
something loose under the hood? missing a cylinder.. reset the master switch.. going back out.. weird.
