Michael Moore gets hot on gun control

Filmmaker Michael Moore on Tuesday posed a tough question for President Barack Obama on gun control.
The director of “Bowling for Columbine,” a documentary about the 1999 massacre at a Colorado high school, said the president has to be the “leader” on the issue and praised his speech in Aurora, Colo., as “powerful," but added that he wondered what Obama would do if his two daughters had been in the theater where last week's mass shooting took place.
“And yet when he brought his own children into it, when he said, you know, my two daughters go to the movies and what if it were them — well I guess if President Obama is watching right now, and I say this with all due respect: What if it were them?” Moore said on “Piers Morgan Tonight” in a clip released before the 9 p.m. broadcast. “What if it were them last Thursday night? Would you stand at the microphone the next day and say I feel your pain and, you know, the existing gun laws, that’s what he said, the existing laws are enough. Is that really what you’d say, Mr. President? I don’t think so.”
Moore's temperature rose as he called for people to "rise up and say, "Dammit, this is not the America I'm going to live in.'"
"And I am not going to come on another damn TV shows, either, after the next one of these shootings, Pierce, because I haven't done it for 10 years," he added. "To be nice to you, and you're a good guy, and you made a good case to me to come on. But I'm sick of this.

What has changed is the culture. Dark, nihilistic movies with evil but charismatic "anti-heroes" have only existed in the last 30 or so years. Yet liberals don't want to discuss the smashing of cultural and moral values, only the availability of guns!
