Well, you are right and I am wrong. Had my facts confused. The road is George Bush Tollway. I had read that operation and maintenance was outsourced to a company called ICA. I had made the bad assumption ICA was the company (based in Spain) getting all the attention during the debates in the Trans Texas Corridor. ICA is really a US firm, privately held, based out of Tennessee. They have the contract.

My bad.

My bad.

Do you know that you can hit the abuse button on your own post, ask the mods to delete it, and they will?

Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte Cintra's Texas projects are listed as:

LBJ Express
North Tarrant Express
SH-130

Outside of Texas, the two other Cintra (headquartered in Madrid, Spain) highway projects are:

Indiana Toll Road
Chicago Skyway

Not that bad. Governor Perry was even trying to convert freeways into toll roads. He’s nuts on the issue and was only stopped when Kay started using it against him in the 2010 primary.

In any case, it really doesn’t matter anymore - he won’t be around after 2014, as conservatives are SICK of him (remember, he’s supporting his bitch in the State Senate, Dewhurst). He made a fool of himself in the primaries and he’s done...and not a day too soon.

You’re instincts are right - the tolling levels in Texas is MUCH HIGHER than in most of the country - the tolls are a slush fund for mayors and others. It is SHAMEFUL.
