PRESIDENT OBAMA: "My grandparents came from the Midwest and so when I travel to rural areas of the country, what always strikes me is how hard people work and resilient they are, and how much they are worried about being able to pass on that way of life to the next generation. Those core middle class values that helped to build America, I think theyre still out there in every corner of this country. People still believe in hard work. They still believe in personal responsibility. And thats why weve spent a lot of time on how we build on the strengths of rural America, making sure that folks out there have access to health care, the ability to export their goods to markets. I want a young person, if they want to teach, if they want to be an entrepreneur young people can say to themselves, we can succeed here just like we can in the big city. Because ultimately, the strengths of those communities, those are the strengths of America."

I’ve seen a few Osama Obama ads on Boston stations recently...aimed at nearby New Hampshire, not the Gay State...and they’ve all been about “women’s health care” (wink, wink).
They must be laughing at the Doofus-In-Chief in rural areas! Live in Chicago? Where the unemployment rate among black teens is 40% and they're lucky if they make it through a weekend without being shot? What planet do the people who come up with these ad ideas live on?
Typical Chicago viewpoint from people who think it’s the center of the universe. I’ve been told directly to my face that “only the cities matter, the country doesn’t count for anything. “
"What planet do the people who come up with these ad ideas live on?"
Deep down, they really think that self-sufficient, liberty-loving Americans are selfish and stupid.
Things get bad it’ll be the big city folks going hungry.
Good, then when TSHTF, they won’t be making their way to the “hicks” for a mouthful of food. Because if it’s my area, they won’t get it. They won’t like what they DO get.
What would Hissein, the ultimate affirmative action “success” story and jobsworth extraordinaire, know about personal responsibility?
Exactly what happened—I burst out laughing when I saw it.
(AT him, not WITH him...haha.....)
On the farm,we geld better animals than him.
Not sure it’s necessary in this case.
lol
p.s. offer the great man himself those words and he’d probably think you meant “gilded” and would tell you it’s already taken care of—ha!
Maybe he’ll teach them how to flash-rob the local John Deere dealership.
Not that they should be proud of that hard work. Because we all know that hard work does not build businesses or success, as he explained earlier in Virginia. Hard work is only effective in communal societies.
"and how much they are worried about being able to pass on that way of life to the next generation."
I can't imagine why they are worried that a generation that has never known hunger or want or been told they weren't the greatest human being in the Whole Wide World, but has been told by the POTUS that hard work is irrelevant, might have trouble understanding the value of hard work.
"Those core middle class values that helped to build America,"
They built it. But they didn't build it. Well, kinda they did, in a helping kind of way. But not in a real, "lookie what I made" kind of way.
"I think theyre still out there in every corner of this country."
That's right, he's in touch. He's not elitist. He is able to publicly read a statement confirming that there's more than just hicks and yokels out in the boonies beyond the 5-lane freeways.
"People still believe in hard work."
Not that he does. I mean, not *individual* hard work, anyway. And of *course* there are people who still believe in hard work--they're called Taxpayers and Conservatives!
"They still believe in personal responsibility."
Yeah, like expecting people to be responsible for funding their own sex lives, from paying for their own birth control to footing the bill for raising their own kids and--hold onto your hat 'cause this is gonna shock you--to even maybe get Married before making babies so that those babies don't grow up to be thugs with no sense of personal responsibility.
making sure that folks out there have ... the ability to export their goods to markets.
Because they certainly wouldn't have the foggiest clue how to get their products into the hands of consumers if the gubmint didn't show them how and hold their hands as they transported them there. Unfortunately, the markets they're taking their goods to are not as strong or spendy as they used to be, thanks to all that inflation the POTUS has caused.
we can succeed here just like we can in the big city
Wow thanks, POTUS, for pointing this out to us rural dwellers! Because we had no idea we had what it takes to be a success in life until you told us! Now just what is it that we have that will help us succeed? Is it hard work? (nope) Is it smarts? (no) Is it a sense of personal responsibility? (nuh-uh) Ohhhh that's right... it's free birth control pills, abortion-on-demand, food stamps, and pot hole-strewn roads that will help us succeed. Hooray for welfare!! Our key to success in the boondocks!!
