Depends—not a lot of AR-15 (civilian version) I’d use 5.56MM in. Overpressurization is a bit of an issue.
best bet is to find one chambered in 5.56 NATO - strong enough for the higher pressures in the military round, so more than plenty for the commercial .223.
...but still not enough for the dreaded .233 round - serious overpressure with that one in a 5.56 chamber.
