I see most of the comments here are ridiculing the article and talking about "government forced exercise". However, there is much to be said for exercise. I was recently diagnosed as "pre-diabetic". So, I have to get my blood glucose levels down. From people I know who deal with this, and from online forums I've read, I get the impression that glucose levels are strongly linked to exercise.
I have never spent much time exercising. I stay in pretty good shape by watching what I eat, and I do a lot of yard work. However, I have never spent time on any actual exercise that gets my heart-rate up. Recently, I started riding a stationary bike. I hope that by doing a lot of miles on the bike that I can bring the sugar levels down. It's boring, but I can read or listen to archived Rush Limbaugh shows while I'm pedaling.

Good for you..yes excercise definitely helps get glucose levels to normal levels..I work out at a gym that is part of a University/Hospital link where they send diabetic patients and many if not most get their diabetes (Type II) under control with lot's of cardio and weights if they stay committed.
I will pm you a link to as site that will help you...lot's of great info.
