Headquartered in Plano, TX, Cinemark Holdings, Inc. is a leader in the motion picture exhibition industry with 459 theatres and 5,181 screens in the U.S. and Latin America as of March 31, 2012, their website reports. Cinemark owns the Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, scene of last nights mass shooting. Cinemark doesnt allow anyone other than law enforcement officers to carry legal firearms in their theaters.

If they don’t allow guns as a rule then there is no logical way this could have happened!
No logical way at all!
None!
Do they post it at the entrance
to their theaters in Colorado ?
The signs sure did their job last night.
The hell you say!
I've been carrying to the movies for years and never seen a 30.06 posted.
That’s strange. I go to the Cinemark here in Denton all the time while carrying concealed (legally of course with a TX CHL). I do not recall ever seeing the required 30.06 sign at the door, nor any of the unenforceable “gun with a red slash across it” signs either. Even if they did have the latter sign up, I would ignore it anyway as it is not in compliance with the TX CHL laws.
Was James Holmes made aware of this rule before he entered the theater?
I know the one in Pueblo does. I’ve never been to the one in Aurora.
“Cinemark doesn’t allow guns...”
Recent evidence suggests otherwise.
I may be exaggerating my likely response but I can’t imagine running away from this. I’d want to take him down.
Well in that case, the shooter is in big trouble.
What is “ther required 30.06 sign”?
Yup. This guy is in REAL trouble now since they don’t allow firearms in the theater. I kind of thought that they might not allow firearms so gotta agree, how could this have possibly happened. Especially if they have “signs” posted. Maybe they don’t have them on the exit doors. If they did have signs, maybe this guy couldn’t read them based on today’s educational norms.

I expect he’ll get a lifetime ban from this particular Cinemark location.
Well, they did say “legal” firearms. So if you have an illegal firearm I guess you would be okay then.

That’s a relief! If some of the moviegoers had been armed, we don’t know what terrible things might have happened!
At least no more free popcorn for him.
Texas Penal Code section dealing with requirements of an enforceable prohibition on carry of concealed weapons on a business’ premises. I have a judge/prosecutor CHL and those signs don’t apply, but other CHL holders have to comply with a properly posted “shoot anybody you want ‘cause nobody can bring a gun here” signs.
Ahem...
