I don’t find my 2 near-by Penney’s to be garbage at all - never have.
As for service, except for Nordstrom’s, the ‘nicer’ retail stores went this way years ago - kind of the K-Mart/Target method of self-shopping.

There’s labels at Penney’s at a lower price than the very same article at the ‘next level’ store - why would one pay more for the exact same thing??!

What I’ve noticed about Penney’s is a different approach to sales, replacing coupons. One week the sales rack is ‘here,’ at this discount, and the next week, it’s over ‘there,’ with additional discount - something like that, with clothes anyway!
The coupons probably are better - - -
Maybe it’s just a matter of getting used to the new way of sale-ing. . .

Some of Penney’s graphics have changed, also - kind of reflecting technology, I think.

Echoing others, I don’t see the necessity of a retail store weighing in on any social issue - what’s the point?!
Are they being badgered to do so???

JUST IGNORE IT, CEO’s

And most of those labels can be had for less elsewhere, as I said before. As you say, why would one pay more for the exact same thing?

Show me any name-brand item at JCP and I can show you the exact same thing available online or at another brick and mortar store for less.

I routinely drive much further in my gas-guzzling 5.8L 1994 SUV to pay more for something I could have purchased in a closer establishment that decided to back a cause I detest. Always have and always will.

We have money printing and that money going to a few large banks. It's not a far step to direct the way some of those funds are utilized. Could fund managers have a secret incentive to purchase stocks of certain corporations whose CEO is connected or supportive of certain government agendas? Isn't this what fascism is all about? That's where Gerald Celenti thinks we're headed (i.e. fascism)

I recently checked Target's stock after recent LG news came out. Unlike JC Penny, Target's stock hasn't been greatly affected by their changes in policy, yet. Maybe someone is still buying?!

Yes. Marketing, advertising and design industries are over-represented in the gay and liberal demographic and that is where this agenda originated. The article even says that the marketing executive was finally fired. Marketing departments are infested with this sort of ideology. I work in this field and am behind enemy lines every day. I was just reading a list of local design events and saw this lecture description:

Design for Good is a platform to build and sustain the implementation of design thinking for social change... Design for Good recognizes the wide range of designers’ work and leadership in social change which benefits the world, our country and our communities. Design for Good supports and sustains designers who play a catalytic role in communities through projects that create positive (by whose standards???) social impact. By connecting and empowering designers through online networking tools, inspirational stories, chapter events, training, national advocacy and promotion, Design for Good serves as a powerful resource for designers who wish to work in this area and a beacon for designers leading the charge.

So you see, you don't go to college to become a graphic designer or a journalist or a marketing or advertising wiz, you go to become an activist and implement "social justice." It's why I rarely go to these events. The people who attend them make me want to vomit.
