Just to add that I don’t think it’s there gay-friendly stance that has hurt them as much as incompetent leadership. Starbucks and General Mills both came out in favor of gay marriage and haven’t had any troubles outside of limited protests/petition signings.
JC Penney however has turned into an absolute garbage store, the selection is terrible, the prices are mediocre, the service is crap and all the social activist stuff just piles on top there, the new CEO has been nothing short of a disaster and has brought that company to its knees.
I think the call for a boycott on General Mills is recent. Don't know about starbucks.
the Gen Mills boycott has stopped me from buying any Green Giant products. But I had already transitioned to family owned Malt-o-meal for great tasting cereal products at half the price.

Sounds like the way Obama is running the country. Then he gives it one more kick in the groin by taking a homo stance.
I don’t find my 2 near-by Penney’s to be garbage at all - never have.
As for service, except for Nordstrom’s, the ‘nicer’ retail stores went this way years ago - kind of the K-Mart/Target method of self-shopping.
There’s labels at Penney’s at a lower price than the very same article at the ‘next level’ store - why would one pay more for the exact same thing??!
What I’ve noticed about Penney’s is a different approach to sales, replacing coupons. One week the sales rack is ‘here,’ at this discount, and the next week, it’s over ‘there,’ with additional discount - something like that, with clothes anyway!
The coupons probably are better - - -
Maybe it’s just a matter of getting used to the new way of sale-ing. . .
Some of Penney’s graphics have changed, also - kind of reflecting technology, I think.
Echoing others, I don’t see the necessity of a retail store weighing in on any social issue - what’s the point?!
Are they being badgered to do so???
JUST IGNORE IT, CEO’s
