You just refuted the concept of "bigger guns";
"Hopefully he has bigger guns at home."
The bigger guns are usually left at home, while the smaller guns, like this gentleman's .380 was right where he needed it, when he needed it.

Yep, I've kicked my own butt several times for trading off my snub-nosed .357 Magnum 5 shot revolver. A local cop wanted it for his extra gun and traded me one of his .40 cal. service semi-auto's for it. No place to hide that big azz thing.
I traded this

Not the best trade I ever made.

No “bigger guns” meaning more lethal if the hero gets a visit at home from the 2 perps or perhaps their associates or even the gang behind their possible initiation gone wrong, now that his name is in the media. Was there a getaway car, was another accompliance at the wheel? etc. I don’t depend on press hacks to give details, and they gave the hero’s name. Snitches affiliated with gangs in police departments can leak his address as well. Hero should assume nothing and carry the fishing rod case around for awhile. No it wouldn’t carry fishing rods.
