"You can't fight evil with evil"
July 17, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/17/2012 3:30:32 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

As Alan Keyes wrote the other day, you cannot fight evil with evil.

If you haven't read it, do yourself a favor:

A Choice Between Satan and Beelzebub (FR thread)

Brief excerpt:

I grieve deeply as I contemplate the fact that millions of Americans are letting themselves be caught in this diabolical snare. As I tried to point out in 2008, the lesser of evils is still evil. No matter how such an election turns out, people content to choose between Satan and Beelzebub have made clear their willingness to let things go to hell. Moreover, the nature of their choice is so clear to them that they practically boast of the passionate hatred that impels them to it. With this practical boast they become the willing, proud accomplices of the very evil they profess to hate.

I’m morally certain this is why Christ admonished his disciples to make striving for God’s perfection the standard for their actions, rather than their hatred of evil. He thought it better to fail reaching for this standard than succeed by abandoning one’s life to the devil’s dominion. He thought it better to fail in the world’s eyes while commending one’s spirit to God (as he does on the cross) than succeed by casting one’s lot with God’s adversary.

--Alan Keyes

A man who for over 30 years of his adult life by his own admission justified the wholesale slaughter of innocent and helpless human life is purely evil and can and did justify anything. Many times.

Romney's entire political life has been a mis-adventure into godless liberal/progressive evil. There can be no denying that he has during his tenure either advocated for or personally enacted nearly the entire godless liberal/progressive agenda. He has succeeded where the Democrats have failed and he has shown them the way. His record of evil leftist doings, rationalizing, justifying, flip-flopping and mealy-mouthed parsing and spinning (lying) precedes him and tells the tale of the man. He has no foundation. No core principles. No Christian values. No moral compass. If ever a man was a godless liberal in the GOP, he is Myth Romney.

If the Republican conservatives in office or in leadership positions or in the so-called conservative media would simply stop rooting for this evil bastard and commit to the TRUTH and stand tall for Life and Liberty now and at the convention, we could chuck this liberal bastard onto the ash heap of history and run a pro-life, pro-liberty, pro-small government conservative Republican that we can all be proud to support over the Marxist usurper. And we would WIN in a Reaganesque landslide!!

Perversely, Romney is just about the only Republican who may actually lose to Obama. Hell, even McCain beat Romney.

Taking the right path is not easy and not popular at this time, but it's the only path.

May we stand on God's side while attempting to save our Republic!!

Well, by not voting for one of the two who have been placed before us THAT WILL BE INAUGURATED, the pool of votes to defeat is diluted. In the case of Romney, if liberals vote for X-not-Romney candidate and not Romney, that dilutes/reduces the pool of votes Obama needs to overcome the number of votes Romney will get. In the reverse, if someone votes for Y-not-Obama and not Obama, that reduces the pool of votes Romney has to overcome in order to win.

Sadly, either of the two placed at the top is a selection by the globalist planning the demise of America, anyway. My only question or questions remain 'which one buys US more time to try and turn this Titanic around; and, is it already too late to turn this around because the down ticket pols are not going to stand on principles regardless of which selected puppet is inaugurated?'

The only quick solution (albeit a quick and very dirty solution) is for whomever is elected to dissolve/de-legitimize the Federal Reserve, so that We The People need not pay interest to private banking powers in order to borrow against our gross domestic product. The debts we owe through the enemy Fed can be rolled over to direct debits and eliminate the banking powers who have raped the nation into bankruptcy. But doing such a radical thing must be accompanied by drastic reductions in spending since the American government issued money would have to be backed by something tangible, like gold or natural gas or oil, or something tangible rather than as now by IOUs which we the people can never hope to repay given the fed's interest usury.

The last president who set out to end the fed was assassinated in Dallas.

The Apostle Paul talked about the perversity of those who say, "Hey, since God is turning my evil deed toward something good, let's do evil so good will result." He didn't go on to talk about those who say, "Hey, let's deliberately refrain from doing something to restrain an ongoing evil because it could result in an outcome that may be evil which means we would be voting for evil so we'll call refraining from that, by doing nothing or deliberating choosing something that has no possible counter-effect, good," because that's a level of perversity basically beyond both imagination and sanity. But even though we don't do evil so good may result, we can, like God, turn something "evil" toward a good end. Preventing Obama from being reelected is good. Enabling him to be reelected is evil. Whatever goes toward the latter end is, therefore, more evil than the former.

This is pure unadulterated and unscriptural perversion to push an illogical and frankly WICKED supposition that is entirely UNBIBLICAL.

First of all, ONLY GOD can turn evil into good according to scripture and the Apostle Paul. NOWHERE in the bible does it even suggest that man can turn evil into good.

Rather, the bible says plainly to resist evil, abhor evil and to OVERCOME evil. It says NOTHING about men turning evil into good - that is something God does Himself. To support evil in any capacity is to support evil - PERIOD.

Romney has a record of promoting and supporting abject evil.

The situation as being currently expressed in the "never Romney, even it it results in Obama's reelection" seen here is the level of moral development of someone who would say, if a psychotic axe-wielding murder breaks into his house in pursuit of a victim who had taken refuge there and asks where the victim is hiding, "I will tell him where the refugee is because to do otherwise would be lying and lying is wrong and I have to remain pure before God by not breaking His holy commandment against lying!"

This is the most asinine and ridiculous attempt at an analogy I've ever read. Only Democrats and KOS morons leap through such convoluted illustrations.

The idea that if we do not vote for Romney we are somehow enabling an axe murderer is beyond insulting and absurd and simply showcases the vapidness the RIO crowd argues.

Biblically-speaking, what aruanan says here, is that it is biblically permissible to support and enable evil if it is put to use against another evil.

There is NOWHERE in scripture that supports such a wicked notion.

But then, this is what passes for Christianity these days.

Lukewarm perversion of scriptures intended to deceive while being deceived and calling evil good, and good evil.

Which is what this argument boils down to.

You are operating under the delusion that Cook County has not gone national and that the votes are going to be honestly tallied. We've been served BOTH Romney AND Obama by the 'globalist(s) planning the demise of America. Indeed Romney himself was CHOSEN to be the opposition by Obama and his media and the Ruling Class in Washington - the same cabal that has turned a blind eye to every unConstitutional act perpetrated on us.

I'm not drinking from either poisoned cup being shoved in our faces. I'm of the mind that this exercise come November is futility anyway. We're waaay beyond stopping tyranny by use of a Mob-controlled election system.

Somehow I don't think ANY of the founding generation would be amused.

You are right, they would not.

"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."
Alexander Hamilton

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
Thomas Jefferson

"And, perversely, some who call themselves conservatives are going to help increase the possibility that Romney loses to Obama, the president who has launched the most intense and sustained attack on the Constitutional and economic infrastructure of the United States, the president who favors partial birth abortion, who opposes the infants born alive laws, who is actually doing an end-run around Congress by imposing by edict what he can't get through legislation on any number of issues, all the while praising themselves for allegedly doing the moral thing, the "right" thing out of fear what Romney could do if elected as opposed to what OBAMA IS ACTUALLY NOW DOING. "

Perfect!

But lets just be honest. These people are EXACTLY LIKE LIBERALS. They keep up the charade even though they KNOW they are dead wrong on every count. They will vote goode or not vote to their own demise (and ours) just to prove their purity. Just stupid on a level that has not yet been defined.

I'll make anyone here a simple bet. I bet either Mitt Romney or Husein Obama will be the next president. The only question is do you as a voter want to have any say in the matter? If not, then it's probably best if you leave the decision to those of us who know better.

I look forward to the complete demise of the Republican party.

No, you are correct. It's not appropriate and I do apologize.

I don't think I started this mud slinging however but that being said I'm out of this thread.

Obviously illustrating yourself a fool or willfully ignorant in terms of both our Foundational Principles and God's principles. Professing yourself to be wise at the same time. (Romans 1:22)

I guess for the RIOs like yourself - expedience out of fear trumps acting in accordance with righteousness or principle. Attacking those of us who will never cast a vote for Romney no matter the circumstances, reveals your own comfort and preference for those things that have condemned us to destruction anyway.

But I'm sure you will keep projecting what is a liberal tactic on those of us refusing to do as you demand.

The illogic being, "If you do not vote for Romney, even if you sit home or vote for someone else - you are voting FOR Obama".

It's a nice desperate fear tactic, preached by panicked and unprincipled cowardly fraidy cats

Yup. The craven, the weak and the baldly unprincipled: noisily braying in celebration of their own personal failings and limitations, and sulkily demanding that others join them in celebrating the same.

Not even worthy of pity, ultimately; just open, sneering contempt.

With a Soros owned Spanish company counting a significant percentage of OUR VOTES, the democrats need only a close race to cheat and throw it to their currently in power commie murderer. I’m under no delusions, but do you get the gist of what you quoted from my post?

The biggest danger of Romney Republicanism is that it leads to just that sort of unprincipled, immoral and illogical contortionism.

Yup.

I'm sorry that hearing the truth feels like being berated.

But Obama is a Marxist, and I won't contribute to him getting another four years of power. We saw how your strategy worked in 2008; people stayed home because McCain was a RINO, and we were lucky to get a slight uptick in power in the House two years later. But that Tea Party uplift wasn't even able to stop Obama from raising the debt ceiling.

Even Joe Farah, who championed the none of the above option in 2008, has said that he hates Romney but has to choice but to vote for him.

You and Jim can stay in your dream world, where somehow seeing Obama re-elected will make us stronger in the long run, but it's a provably false position.

Bottom line is that you aren't going to get me to vote for a pro-abortion, anti-gun, socialized medicine, big-government liberal.

Either of them.

So why don't you give the abuse a rest.

Yours is a good, thoughtful post. Thanks for the Herb Titus citation - I do appreciate it. He's not someone to take lightly. I will have to consider his arguments carefully, especially as regards legislative prerogatives under the Mass. constitution and whether Romney overstepped his bounds. And of course, if he's right, it does beg the question as to why the Governor decided to so act.

I must say that the legal references upon which I have depended to understand this decision are uniformly at variance with Dr. Titus' interpretations. That fact does not invalidate opposing views. But it may well reflect Romney's reliance on the advice of his own attorney general (Tom Reilly), who one might assume must have offered his counsel as Romney is obviously not a lawyer. Troubling information, regardless. Thanks again.

” - - - You cannot run a description as a candidate.”

You are missing the point.

My point is that we dislike Obama so much that we are willing to run Socialist Romney against him.

This will do nothing to solve the onslaught of the Socialist/Communist Surge.

Why stick with a well-described Socialist?

Why not choose a well-described CONSERVATIVE, and NOT someone who ran in the RINO-controlled Primary?

Why not DUMP Romney by a First Ballot ABSTAIN vote in Tampa?

WE are running around bemoaning the mean old RINOs for giving us such a rotten candidate, when all we have to do is get the majority of Delegates to ABSTAIN on the First Ballot.

Then nominate a well-described, by action and word, CONSERVATIVE.

It is high time that we stop this “you can’t make me vote for so and so,” or “I’ll go ahead and use my McCain Nose Clamp just one more time.”

WE need to choose a Nominee who can “severely defeat” Obama, the RINO wing of the Republican Party and the anti-Capitalists in the US Congress.

WE need a Presidential Nominee with long and strong coat tails.

WE need a true dark horse Nominee that we can support without hesitation.

WE are alone in this effort as it should be when the goal is to wrest our Nation from the enemy grasp of the Socialist/Communist Surge.

WE have 6 weeks to achieve this goal.

What say all of you?
