I'm sorry folks, but a man who can justify and rationalize in his own mind the wholesale slaughter of innocent human life can justify any kind of evil whatsoever. And he has.
He's justified homosexual marriage, homosexuals in the Boy Scouts, homosexuals in the military. That homosexual couples should be able to adopt children. He's justified that guns are dangerous and should be banned. That free citizens should be forced by the government to purchase insurance contracts against their will or face stiff penalties or taxes. That mandated forced socialized healthcare is a good thing.
That abortion should be safe and legal in America. That since Roe v Wade has been in effect for over twenty years that it is settled law and should be defended as same. That when the government puts Planned Parenthood on the board of his own brainchild signature accomplishment and makes taxpayer funded abortion available on demand, "it's not his fault." That when he appoints liberal judges and appointees, it's not his fault. When a judge rules that homosexual couples should be allowed to marry, so HE orders it done, it's not his fault.
He's justified that the earth is warming and it's caused by man and we are going to have to do something about it. He's justified that since the economy is down and some companies are failing, that it's a good thing that the government stepped in and bailed them out. That government should spend MORE of what it doesn't have to stimulate the economy. That the debt limit should be increased so the government can continue spending even more of what it doesn't have. He's justified in his own mind that fee hikes are not tax increases.
My friends he has justified and personally enacted just about the entire liberal/progressive, abortionist/homosexualist, statist/socialist, big government anti-liberty agenda.
And they have the gonads to ask me for MY vote?
There’s nobody Jim CAN vote for who stands a chance to win in his state - CA. In states where Obama will win by a landslide, conservatives can make a statement by voting third-party. And I hope they do; God knows the R establishment needs a good knock upside the head.
In the states that are truly up-in-the-air, things get a lot more complicated. I think that’s what you’re thinking about. We don’t have any good choices; we blew the chance for a conservative candidate. So now it HAS to be the lesser of the evils, no matter how much we hate it - because the only real GOOD choice would be a good candidate winning. Every candidate is flawed in some way, and we just saw in the primary that everybody with principles puts a different weight to a particular flaw, which divides the principled vote and leaves only the candidate preferred by pragmatists.
There is no right or wrong time to use your conscience if you don't have one!
If one can turn it on and off so easily - it's mush anyway, nothing to hold it in place EVER.
Do you think we would be in a better position or a worse one if McCain had won in 2008?
Risking your own wealth is the very essence of Capitalism. Risking someone else's wealth is not necessarily capitalism ~ even commies do that ~ and not very well as it turns out.
The point I made is that overall the steel mill was NOT a good deal ~ not for the steel mill, not for the American economy, and probably not for the guys they borrowed money from.
It was most similar to the game plan Obama and his cronies used to dispose of then steal General Motors.
Interesting point ... it would have the benefit of getting those folk accustomed to the idea that pulling the "R" lever won't cause their heads to explode.
“So who should we vote for?”
Something like Alice asking “How do I get in?” and the White Rabbit replying, `The question is whether you are to get in at all,” the question re-phrased: Who should we vote against?
http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/07/12/tribes-of-the-swing-states/
“Romney can count on the often inchoate grudge block, people who vote against somebody, rather than for a large part of the Republican base this year. Obama has certainly angered Wall Street, Southern whites and no small number of conservative Roman Catholics.”
“But Romney has a longer list of people who may be disinclined to vote for him. Latinos. Gays. Gay soldiers. People who were bullied as kids. Dog lovers. People who like sex. People who use contraception during sex. People who want free stuff, as Romney classified those without health care on Wednesday. People who believe in science.”
The NYT manages to be arrogant and condescending to people like you and me, as usual, while finding a truffle, paraphrased:
`Obama has screwed the pooch in just about every way imaginable, but if we’re lucky the GOP & Company may re-install him for another four years.’
So the question, re-phrased again, Who do we most dislike? I’m not sure we can survive another four years of Obama. “Fight for your country!” Hector, The Illiad.
It’s always pretty safe at the NAACP conventions. No bravery involved in that one. Now, walk into Mohammad’s Mosque #2 in Chicago......
These “no obama and no romney!” people love screaming that screed, but they can never answer my very simple question. I got one reply once that said “vote your conscience.” Um...OK.
Oh, wait, one did say (indirectly—”look at my tagline”) to vote for Tom Hoefling. Yeah, great idea, that.
The Mittbots should spend their time converting Obots. There’s no sense in converting real Conservatives ~ as Romney can tell them, and probably has, there aren’t enough of them to count!
Only as part of a heavily armed rifle squad, with a radioman and artillery on call.
In fact ...
Forget entry ... just call in an airstrike and be done with it.
I’m inviting the Mittbots to go out and convert the other side. If they want to sell Mitt Romney and his ideas to somebody, sell to the Obots.
However, he did not sacrifice his principles do work with the other side. Neither did Romney, but that is because he has none to sacrifice.
Good idea.
I’m fer it.
It's a sale that's already more than halfway made, in that instance. Good thinking! ;)
Furthermore, Mr. RomneyCARE (oh, the poor victim)
ALWAYS screwed conservatives, military, heterosexuals,
WHENEVER he could.
-- even when people PLEADED to Mr. RomneyCARE (the perpetual self-declared whining "victim").
"National Guard Lt. Anthony Circosta poses in his backyard in Agawam, Mass., on June 9, 2007.
At left, his wife Danielle and daughter Kylie, 2, talk near the swing set. Circosta,
a decorated Iraq War veteran, seemed like an ideal candidate for a pardon from
then-Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for the 29-year-old's boyhood conviction
for a BB gun shooting. Romney denied the pardon,
twice, despite the recommendation of the Governor's Council."

Actually I’m not naive at all. You think Obama really gives arat’s ass about abortion? It’s just part of his leftist bag of tricks.
Politicians are not sincere. Sorry to tell you that. Romney is now pro life, with a republican senate you will get conservative nominees. With Obama you will not.
I once knew a woman who’s father’s standard mantra was, “He’s a bum. Dump him.”
I tend not to continue conversations with people that call me a “pissant liberal worm”.
Either they are gonna vote for Mitt, or they're not.
Just sayin'.....
