Company says addition reflects an emphasis on "diversity and inclusivity." It also reflects customers who are young and accepting.

Same-sex marriages aren't recognized in most states, but Target stores nationwide are now selling greeting cards to celebrate them.
Placed on card racks under the headings of "For two special men" and "For two special women," the cards are adorned with phrases such as "Mr. & Mr." and "Two very special women, one very special love."
The cards hit shelves in mid-June, a month after the retailer began selling T-shirts with gay pride themes, and two years after Target drew a backlash for a $150,000 donation it made to a group backing Tom Emmer, the Republican gubernatorial candidate who opposed gay marriage.
Target offers a range of greeting cards that appeal to a variety of audiences, including the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, spokeswoman Molly Snyder said.
"Target is focused on diversity and inclusivity," she said.

The free market works.
If there’s a market, shouldn’t they capitalize on it?
And in a free market, people offended should feel free to boycott Target.
I believe the proper terminology is "catcher."
The other one is the "pitcher."
The Mr. and Mr. card both apply to the Obamas and the Cintoons...
Think about it!~
“I bleeped you up the bleep bleep”
“You said it was very nice”
I agree
Yep. About ten years ago they threw the Salvation Army Christmas bellringers off their properties due to pressure from homosexual employees (retail has plenty of them). I quit them then, saving me the trouble of doing it now.
“If theres a market, shouldnt they capitalize on it?”
Yes and no. Yes, because it is natural to capitalize on an untapped market; no, because where do you draw the line with cultural standards? There is a market for child porn, but they do not capitalize on it. There is a market for a lot of vile and tasteless things, but in prior times there was capitalism and morality, both.
ok and ok...?
“ok and ok...?”
I don’t get what you mean here, stuart....I must be slow on the uptake...
It’s the only response I could think of to ...’yes and no’...
“The free market works.”
Well, i think irrational consumers can ruin the work of the “invisible hand”.
ha, gotcha. ;)
ok, I guess
some states do not have laws against sex with animals either.
should there be special cards based on age of consent variants?
How about special “50 shades of gray cards”?
Pandering to the coprophiles for a few dollars more? We simply remove Target from our shopping establishments list.
Problem is Scott is while half of Americans don't agree with homosexuality, the vast majority of all Americans can care less if these co's cater to gays. Most people are too busy and apathetic in their lives to care...and have in their opinion more important things to worry about such as their jobs, cost of living increases, family issues, just getting through life's stress.
It will never reverse.
