No explosives found, no blasting caps. Sounds like wire terrorism!
Thinking themselves wise, the TSA become fools. That is the problem with reactive maintenance, when you worry about the symptom, (bombs), not the problem, (terrorists).
Might I suggest we stop searching grannys, and search everyone or no one. Israel searches with scanners, interviews with agents and racially and other ways profiles. Perhaps we should copy them, instead of rolling dice.

Wires? Only wires?
Solid or stranded? If solid, they might have something there. If stranded, someone’s earbuds or wired headset, likely failed and they tore ‘em up.

Just let the TSA test everybody's drinks that are bought beyond the security gate, and that will make us all safer.

The BATF used to bust people with fender washers and aluminum conduit, saying they had parts for a silencer.

They also interviewed a Pakistani-born passenger who was believed to be the last person in the bathroom. If there were any 3-year-old girls or geriatric grannies on board, they clearly need to get equal treatment.

Well, of COURSE he denied!!! So they then let him go. Shame on them for profiling, anyway /sarc

Have they even questioned the wires yet? Run some high voltage thru’em, they’ll tell ya everything.

I’m not positive but most likely they’d get a negative response.
