Clinton 'Outraged' by Syria Massacre, Urges UN Action

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Friday that she is outraged by reports of a new massacre in Syria.

The Associated Press reported that Clinton demanded that the UN Security Council take action to stop the violence in Syria.

Clinton said in a statement that Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime is deliberately murdering innocent civilians as it tries to put down 16 months of unrest and that history will judge the Security Council if it fails to act.

“History will judge this council,” she said, according to AP. “Its members must ask themselves whether continuing to allow the Assad regime to commit unspeakable violence against its own people is the legacy they want to leave.”

Although she did not mention them by name, Clinton's warning was directed at Russia and China, which have blocked previous UN efforts to impose sanctions on Syria.

Earlier, AP reported, UN chief Ban Ki-moon accused the Syrian government of violating UN resolutions by using heavy weapons against the village of Tremseh, where some reports said as many as 250 were killed.

Ban was quoted by AP as having urged the council to take "collective action" in response.

Ban and Clinton’s condemnations join that of Kofi Annan, the UN special envoy to Syria, who said on Friday he was “shocked and appalled” by the massacre in Tremseh.

She’s defintely earned her Madeline Albright ‘kick me’ sign, this Secretary of state.

Having just finished the interview with George Schultz in today’s WSJ, I’m beginning to grasp how unqualified this mewling, weak excuse for a diplomat really is.

When this all started Cankles and Onumbnuts said Assad was a Reformer. I think he is just reforming now, not slaughtering his own People.

“..accused the Syrian government of violating UN resolutions..”

The Iraqi government violated UN resolutions for 12 years before the US made a move.

How do the “Syrian Massacre” number stack up next to the klinton death list?

Hillary Clinton’s comments illustrate what a pathetic amateurish hack she really is. Diplomats aren’t supposed to be “outraged”, they’re supposed to be diplomatic. She’s an absolute disgrace.

It’s all just thunder and lightning.
This is just a small storm amidst the arab spring ... it’s just natural for dictators to shell(or gas)their own people in that culture of peace.

Thanks to Bill Clinton, George Bush and Barack Obama, the once lofty and powerful cabinet position of US Secretary of State has been turned into just another sinecure for inconsequential but politically correct Affirmative Action appointees.

Regarding the Clinton Waco TX massacre, I am sorry but I don't remember where I read this but I have read that Hitlery was instrumental in the forced ending (massacre) of the government's siege on the Branch Davidian Christian Church. Now Hitlery expects everyone to buy that she now cares about the lives of others, let alone those lives in Syria. Sorry Hitlery, that pig don't fly.

Have no fear, the three Amigos are here.

Senators Concerned About Assad Reportedly Transferring Chemical Weapons

Senators John McCain, Joe Lieberman, and Lindsey Graham released the following statement on Syria:

“Today's extremely disturbing report in the Wall Street Journal that the Assad regime may be moving chemical weapons could have profound consequences for U.S. policy toward Syria. We have every reason to expect the worst of Assad and his forces, who are killing more people in Syria now than at any time in the conflict. First and foremost it is essential to determine whether this report is accurate, and if Assad is in fact moving chemical weapons, where and why they are being moved. We urge the Administration to brief Congress on what is known as soon as possible.

Well, we could always get Syria and Iran simultaneously. Wonder how that played out in the focus group. Two new wars, while our troops are cutoff in Afghanistan.
