Just going to prove how weak Obama actually is, as opposed to the ABO hysteria that regards him as omnipotent Oz the Great and Terrible whom "we couldn't survive" if he got re-elected.

Romney endangers America's future so hideously -- if he wins in a landslide, "progressive" Republicanism will appear to have a popular mandate to proceed; that it was a referendum against Obama would soon and conveniently be forgotten. Conservative Republicans in Congress and beyond would be rendered a helpless fringe as moderate (and craven) Republicans joined with their Republican president in "reaching across the aisle" to Democrats to embrace global warming regs, the homosexual agenda, government-run health care, activist judges, gun control, and on-demand tax-funded abortion.

With Obama staying in the race, at least there's a decent chance that enough disgruntled voters on both sides of the aisle who vote third party, can deny a mandate to either of the statist authoritarians destined to win. ON THE OTHER HAND, Romney has left a very dangerous door open to the Democrats nominating a new "clean slate" instead of Obama, who could win with a majority mandate that Obama, as he stands now, would very likely be denied if he won, as the only way he could win would be on a flimsy plurality.

Romney is VERY BAD NEWS all the way around. No matter which angle one takes, Romney as the Republican nominee is suicidal for American freedom.

Very well said, Finny. That's a sober and mature deduction of political reality. Unfortunately, many of our folks are so terrified of Obama, that they can't process simple logic anymore. You'd think they'd never seen these exact dynamics play out before in national politics before.

Even now, we see Democrats in Congress voting against their best interests, because of the enforced lock-step herd mentality in their party (musn't vote against the boss, you know). Terrified conservatives are not stopping to consider that the exact same dynamics will play out between a president Romney and a Republican dominated Congress.

No, the conservatives will be marginalized and outvoted by the squish contingent every time, thus allowing Romney to 'reach across the aisle' to his friends on the 'other' side.

Yeah, somehow, some way, it's going to be different this time. Gravity will be repealed, and the earth will reverse its spin, if we just elect Mittens. You'll see.
