I’m kind of confused by the point you made (?). While neither statement is “appropriate” for a Big Brother to relay to a mentored child - the concern should be more toward what the Big Brother might actually do to the child (molest).
Stated another way, I could see where it would be prudent not to allow a homosexual into the program.
If BB wanted to be neutral on the topic, I think that’s a dangerous idea, but I could understand it.
If someone is so open about their sexuality that BB knows about it, that’s a problem. I work with a couple of women who I strongly suspect are homosexual, but I don’t KNOW it, because they don’t tell me about it.
