That race was tied in one poll about a month ago.

Also, I saw a Hawaian US Senate poll today showing the Republican gov with a 45-40 lead.

Looks like Impy’s confident prediction is bearing out - at least for now.

I don't know who is running them, but ads attaching Heitkamp to Obama and Obamacare are working.

Berg, like Hoeven, is a post turtle. Neither one is conservative as the state is, and both are too nice to attack the Democrats openly.

“Looks like Impy’s confident prediction is bearing out - at least for now.”

It's a good thing that Verlander stepped in between Impy and Kate Upton and saved that Senate seat in ND. Well, Impy, there's always Mila Kunis, although she was last seen applying pro-Obama graffiti in L.A.

The poll showing Republican Linda Lingle leading Democrat Mazie Hirono 45-40 was taken for the Lingle campaign, so caveat emptor: http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2012/jul/12/poll-ex-hawaii-gov-lingle-ahead-senate-race/

Showing two can play that game, Hirono released an internal poll showing her leading Lingle 53-41. http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/archives/2012/07/dem-poll-hirono.php

If the truth is somewhere in between, then Hirono leads Lingle by only 46-43, which is a terrible place for Hirono to be in a state like Hawaii.

BTW, the Lingle poll shows Lingle trailing Democrat Ed Case by 41-40, with Hirono leading Case in the Dem primary by the same 41-40 margin. Hirono’s poll had Hirono leading Case by 53-38 in the primary, and didn’t poll (or polled but didn’t release) a GE matchup between Case and Lingle. I hope that Hirono beats Case in a veeery nasty primary, and that Lingle beats Hirono just as she did in the 2002 gubernatorial race.

This is huge!

If Lingle pulls out the win in Obama’s “home” state, Obama will have lost the election by then.

I’ll be more confident when other polls show the same results. It’s worth noting that Rick Berg still runs consistantly benind other Republicans running statewide, including Mitt Romney, Kevin Cramer, and Jack Dalrymple.

That wouldn’t be unusual since besides Zero, Heitkamp is the sole serious Democrat candidate, the rest are desultory opponents for the Republican front-runners.
