He's been MIA since June 10th. That's a month without an explanation. Had he been a man, he would have come clean prior to his going into rehab, but as usual, being a Democrat allows him to lie, stall and obfuscate.
I call BS. Hiding in rehab is more like it.
There is one thing we can be sure of; it was the finest booze and best cocaine taxpayer funds could buy!

I’d agree except I think it’s all one big calculated lie as he tries to elude the grasp of the federales.
— The program has principles,
— and chief among them in anonymity.
Strangely enough, I agree
Addiction is tough to face,
but the consequences must be faced later
These are the original Twelve Steps as published by Alcoholics Anonymous:
1) We admitted we were powerless over alcoholthat our lives had become unmanageable.
2) Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3) Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4) Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5) Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6) Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7) Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8) Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9) Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10) Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
11) Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12) Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
Jessie Jackson ..... and the black moore fish.
With all due respect, it is now five weeks since the just disappeared like a fart in the wind. Just how much time would you allow your representative if you knew absolutely nothing besides what some spokesman had to say? Would it matter to you that according to a report yesterday, we were told not to expect him back in his office until sometime after Labor Day?
He accepted a very high profile and powerful job to represent his constituents combined will all the access to the money, corrupt or not, because of his position.
As an employer, would you not be just a little more demanding of specific reasons why an employee just decided to take a one month vacation without notice or explanation and then be told it might be longer than an additional six weeks before he might come back?
He did not find himself in this position by no fault of his own. Instead, it was totally his fault and lack of personal responsibility that got him where he is now. Further, his other indiscretions landed him in the Pay to Play Blogo scandal and I'm sure that Blogo was not going down alone and somebody has the goods on JJJr. Then he gets caught in a rather insidious affair to top it all off.
An honorable man would step down and take his lumps, of his own doing, and figure out how to catch the next available on-ramp to start a new life, hopefully with a much more secure moral compass. Just like any one of his constituents would have to do.
Maybe he's trying to qualify for disability benefits. I hear they're handing them out like candy these days.
It’s almost certain there is a video somewhere of Andrea Mitchell trying to blame Jackson’s addictions on Romney or Bush.
Since the statement, his wife has said h is NOT in rehab but would not elaborate. I think this is a ruse.

The 12-step is a tricky proposition for famous people. You say your first name, even if it’s made up, and there are a lot of people in the room who know who you are. The paparazzi offer a pretty penny to those who would violate the anonymity, and that’s a sad truth.
I don’t know where in my state he is, and if I did I would never disturb him. I understand what you understand, Laz. Leave him alone. He can read all the digs from us when he gets out.
If this was a pubbie the dems would be asking why he has not resigned....
It would be interesting to see how many resignations from government would precede the law’s implementation. There is not one legitimate reason every elected official should be granted immunity from each and every regulation, rule and law that average citizens endure.
And that’s just the way it should be pushed/marketed/campaigned on.
You simultaneously cause the lib/dems to PO most of the country and push people into our camp. What are they going to say against it that does not make them look like even bigger elitists than they are? They’d have to counter with eliminating all the drug test requirements.....

He will be re-elected until he dies.
Washington (CNN) Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr.’s office issued the following statement from his doctor’s office as top Democrats have found themselves split as to whether Jackson should reveal the details behind his mysterious leave of absence from Congress:
“Information regarding the Congressman’s treatment is protected by federal law under the privacy provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (’HIPPA’). The name of the attending physician and treatment center will not be disclosed in order to protect his continuing privacy.”
His physician added, “The Congressman is receiving intensive medical treatment at a residential treatment facility for a mood disorder. He is responding positively to treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.”
Jackson’s office added that “the rumors about him being treated for alcohol or substance abuse is not true.”

That was my first reaction too- but we don't know exactly who leaked this to Mitchell. Besides- the 11th and 12th Traditions speak to OUR maintaining anonymity- we don't find anywhere that suggests we expect others to maintain it for us.
There are some in the public eye who have driven me to distraction with talking about their recovery (Beck comes to mind) because they do NOT speak for me or you, or AA/NA as a whole and often do more harm than good.
...And, I care...why?
