Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney acknowledged on Tuesday he is considering naming his choice to serve as vice presidential running mate earlier than usual to better compete with President Barack Obama.
As they work from a short list of leading Republicans, Romney and his advisers say they are weighing whether he should announce his choice some weeks earlier than the traditional time of around the Republican National Convention, which is to be held in Tampa in late August.
The reasoning, advisers say, is that two candidates would be able to raise more money and engage Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in battle with polls showing Americans closely divided on whether to pick the Republican challenger or Democratic incumbent in the November 6 election.

I find it interesting that when they mention Kelly Ayote, theyvsay that because she is a first term senator, that she dent have the experience to be VP. But Bambi was qualified to be at the top of the ticket????

This is not going to be an easy election.

Keep your eyes on the undercard, but the VP nominee is not it. And Rubio won’t be the VP nominee. Also, I disagree — I very much doubt Romney will name a VP nominee before the convention. Meanwhile, many, many proxies will criticize Zero, his incompetence, and his henchmen/women and Romney’s choice will probably be a surprise and a shock to the Kenyan.

If Romney is really in this thing to win ( and I have my doubts ) he’ll pick West . And I don’t agree with some of the thinga West has voted on , but he’s the best we’ve got .
FLORIDA or OHIO... both must win states....
Romney will pick a liberal because he thinks of himself as an extreme conservative.

I like this notion too. (I also like Ryan.) We need someone INTERESTING, not boring and safe. Safe gets zero votes. Rubio could definitely pull a fair number of Hispanics, plus he is good-looking and reasonably charmismatic (as is Ryan). Plus the fact that Rubio isn’t white bread ought to pull some disenchanted libs away from Obama.
As for the anchor baby issue ... screw it, I don’t care anymore. I know I should but I don’t. Obama sank that ship forever, apparently. Now “anyone” really can be President, I guess. Anyway, if we are stuck with that reality we should use it to our advantage. Rubio would be every bit as “legal” as Obama ... however much that is.
How do you say amnesty in Spanish? Amnestio?
