Anderson County deputies said that a girl who was shot and killed during a home invasion Sunday night was participating in the crime when she was shot.
The shooting happened at 11:05 p.m. at 506 Burris St.
When deputies arrived at the home, they said they found the victim sitting near a gun and a woman lying on the ground with a bullet wound to the stomach.
The man told deputies that the three people forced him and his girlfriend onto the floor. He said that he was hit in the head with a gun after the group forced their way inside.
Deputies said that the man was held at gunpoint by the girl, while two men ransacked the home. They said that the man tackled the girl, and she was shot in the stomach during a struggle for the gun.

Oh, this is a different bimbo. I thought it was more about the one in Fort Worth.
Is it open season on 17-year-olds or something?
You mean neither of them were at the initial presser? Guess they're slowing up in their old age!
The girl was trying to get over.

“How could you do that and lay down at night”
Very easily, if it was a question between the lives of home-invading thugs and the safety of my family, the thugs’ lives are simply forfeit.
I’m sure they will be at the next one. They don’t show-up until the crowd is larger and riled enough to riot. If they aren’t riled, Messy and Al will see that they are.
With Trayvon (best Jackson Lee voice) it was Hoodies and skittles. What will it be with this innocent (snicker) young girl? Hair extensions, long fake nails? I can’t wait to find out. Stay tuned.
Easy.
If I have control of the weapon we're fighting over, I just keep pulling the trigger until she, who would do the same to me, lets go.
True, and much harder to gin up a mob attack on the scapegoat, if it's a tree. Could be done, though, if someone could find a racial angle on it.
I'm rather in awe of the question, "How could you stuff my baby with that many bullets?" when it appears there was just one shot. In addition to the astounding disconnect from reality, there's a real visual and even tactile brilliance to that line. If you had a beanbag toy, only instead of beans there were bullets inside, you could feel and hear the metallic friction, and even smell metal, rather like having a sock full of pennies.
I'm glad the journalism major used the term "victim" for the correct person in the story!! Maybe there are a few intelligent ones out there!!
That’s ok, I have enough sympathy for both of us. There are plenty of people in this world who sin, even though they know the difference between right and wrong, and know it more firmly than a girl of 17.
Sometimes we sin anyway.
Sometimes God gives us the earthly time to figure out how to avoid great sinning and find Him. I am sorry this poor fool didn’t get that time.
I'm not twitchy enough to find her alleged Twitter page. I'm sure it's a potty-flavored winner.
The dying perp (Puckett) and the injured victim (Pierce) were transported in seperate ambulances. I'm not sure why the reporter felt the need to include this irrelevant detail.
In the Fox story I couldn't even tell how many women had been shot, so this story is a little better. But it isn't going to win any awards.
Much better written story.
There is not enough information to determine what happened here. Doesn't sound like your typical “home invasion”. I think these people knew each other. Was the girl a villain or a pawn? Wait for more details. Opinions may change.
The grieving mother was so depressed that she took the time to get all “dolled up” (term used loosely) before she went on camera.
My first thought was to wonder what exactly would have happened to the victims huddled on the floor with a gun to their heads if he had NOT taken the gun away from the armed intruder?
I checked to see if there is any info on the perp, to see what she really looked like at 17, instead of the “precious baby” photos that mom will give the press, and found this interesting tidbit:
http://www.independentmail.com/news/2009/jan/16/teachers-pay-it-forward-anderson-school-district-5/
“Southwood Middle School sixth grade student Emani Puckett, left, waits for a school bus Friday ...”
Now, that’s from January 2009, and it says she was in the sixth grade. That’s pretty unusual, to be 13-14 years old and still in the sixth grade.
Pop, you win today’s Trayvon (Copyright) Hoodie.
The tragedy in this story is that the two other perps are still on top of the land.
But, as the old saying goes, "You gotta bring ass to get ass". She brought it but she was just a littil light in the ass department. And despite what the bleeding hearts say, I doubt that this was her firt rodeo.
She looks like a tattooed gang-banger.
