This post is to all who think that this is meaningless, subject to ratification or any similar idea. Please see the above post 89 and read the article linked therein. It will educate you to the perils we face if so much as a Department of State lacky signs this beast.

Philman 36 & Freedom_Is_Not_Free, thanks for your efforts to educate on this matter.

...thanks for your efforts to educate on this matter.

You know how many years I've been doing this.
I keep on keepin' on, but it doesn't seem to be very effective, despite my best efforts.
Nice, mean, indifferent...none of it seems to work.

You are welcome. UN Agenda 21 is evil and insidious. It clearly taught me how an international treaty or concept can be implemented right down to the local level, without a single US law being passed by the Legislature to do so.

Anybody who thinks the UN can’t implement gun control here in the USA is misinformed at best, ignorant at worst. All you need is a UN plan signed by the US president. That is all the excuse you need for the mayors of many cities to be off and running, and then it will be off to the left-wing radical courts to uphold.

I agree with those who say guns will never be brazenly confiscated outright. They will get our guns by taxing and regulating them to where people surrender them for financial reasons.

I am 53 years old. When I was a wee lad, I read a particular story from Aesop’s Fables. (EGAD! I just realized the wisdom and lessons of freedom I learned from some of those fables, and realize that no children today are even shown them anymore. What a loss!!!)

Anyway, the wind and the sun are arguing who is more powerful and make a bet to settle the argument. A man is walking by in a heavy winter coat and they bet each other they can make him remove the coat. The wind does his best to force the man to remove his coat with strong gales, but the stronger the wind blows, the more the man clutches tightly to his coat to keep warm.

The wind fails, and the sun takes a turn. All he does is gently beam down warm rays until the heat builds up and the man gratefully removes his coat.

This will be how they eventually get our guns. If they try heavy handed tactics to confiscate our guns, we will simply clutch them all the more tightly. All they have to do is gently turn up the heat over time — higher taxes on gun ownership and ammunition and range fees through environmental taxes, etc. And stiffer regulation until the hassle of gun ownership and risk of breaking one of the many thousands of intertwined conflicting gun laws, makes most people just surrender their guns voluntarily.

Any body with a brain can see this coming. The government is not so stupid as to send troops door to door in obvious gun confiscation. They will simply tax and regulate people to where most of us are happy to get rid of the exorbitant cost and trouble to own a gun.

Then, BAM! Off to the concentration camps, ya. Be a good little Juden.
