Pity the poor Harvard Crimson.
When reporting from that bastion of political correctness, Harvard, it is quite easy to inadvertently wander onto the dangerous shoals of thought crimes. Such was the case when the Crimson used a (GASP!) gendered pronoun to describe a new member of the Harvard faculty and was subsequently forced to issue a correction for their heinous misdeed:
CORRECTION: July 3
An earlier version of this article used the pronoun "she" to refer to Vanidy "Van" Bailey, the newly appointed director of bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender, and queer student life. In fact, Bailey prefers not to be referred to by any gendered pronoun.

HUMOR PING!
Somebody please tell me why I should automatically respect a Harvard education?
“In fact, Bailey prefers not to be referred to by any gendered pronoun.”
Ah....SO????
What ‘it’ prefers is of no consequence to those living outside the thought experiment that is Harvard. And that should be the response ‘it’ gets ‘in’ Harvard as well.
Long ago before this nonsense reached its current fevered pitch, my father proposed that the appropriate genderless pronoun was s/h/it.
(Incidentally, my father also had the attitude that “cussing” was not strictly forbidden, but that it lost its effectiveness when used too much.)
why I should automatically respect a Harvard education?
The default setting is now disrespect.
Roberts is the product of this kind of “thinking”
Actually it should be called He, or she, it.
Say it fast.
“Somebody please tell me why I should automatically respect a Harvard education?”
If it’s an Asian or Jew, then that person was DAMN SMART to get there as their numbers are limited by quotas. If it was a white, still a very smart person. If it’s a protected minority...well, I think you can figure out where I’m going. Also give some points to males.
...actually, the same way that I choose a doctor now. If someone’s going to be cutting me up, I want to be sure that the person didn’t get some ‘extra help’ through medical school.
There maybe (and actually are) OUTSTANDING minority doctors, but I just don’t have a sure way to tell which ones they are.
Nice try, but it looks suspiciously like you hid a cross in there.
So would you?
Laz would not hit "it". In fact, for once, I'll agree with political correctness. That is an "it" and not a "she".
...........................They gave the child a name that is not male or female and do not refer to the child as he or she and will not reveal whether it is a boy or girl...................
So, if I remember my color wheel correctly, pink for a girl, and blue for a boy, which would then paint “its” bedroom lavender, still a panty waisted girlie color; to match “its” purple unicorn stallion stuffed toy, with Ken and Barbie riding atop it.
See, I’m beginning to understand this shit!
I saw two transgendered guys pretending to be women at the San Diego County Fair July 4. Their disguises were NOT working!
Poor kid.
Dem hack, and former president of Harvard, Larry Summers, said they (+wife) were raising their son with gender-neutral toys, but the kid still preferred the male toys when he got the opportunity.
His comment suggesting that there may be something to the differences between the genders was the final grain of common sense that led to his ouster.
(Among Summers other transgressions was that he reminded Cornel West that Harvard was paying West to "teach", not make rap albums in lieu of "teaching")
