At least 2 major problem extend beyond Obama or the Dems and are indemic in our society.
1. Jobs are “owned” by someone other than the employer and that a person “owns” a specific job, or at least a specific job title. This is totally anti-thetic to the capitalist idea of letting the free market decide.
2. A disability for one job is a disability for all jobs. A white collar worker with a bum leg can claim disability because it is a disability for a running back. I just had one seek to rent from me with exactly that situation. He claimed he would have no problem walking the stairs to a 2d floor bedroom. His disability only bothered him when he tried to work.
I don’t know how these people go around the system. I have three chronic illnesses, and need knee and back surgery. Still I cannot get disability. I was told...that my condition/s must keep me from being able to do any kind of work for at least a year, including sit down work. I can do sit down work, so I was not eligible.
