GOP Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (Mich.) resigned on Friday, citing the effects a “nightmarish” month and half has had on his family.
“After nearly 26 years in elected office, this past nightmarish month and a half have, for the first time, severed the necessary harmony between the needs of my constituency and of my family,” McCotter wrote in a statement. “As this harmony is required to serve, its absence requires I leave.”

He had been an elected official for 26 yrs., not all of them were served in Congress. He was a great representative. He was my congressman, and my son interned in his district office. I’m very sorry to see him go. I wonder what will happen to his seat, if they’ll fill it.
More weirdness from McCotter. Maybe Roberts put him over the edge.
5 terms is also to many. 2 is a nice limit. Get the good ones out of DC before they get totally corrupted.

Do they really think they can pull a Murcowski in Michigan. The RNC should stay out of it, and let the people decide who they want.
I always looked forward to redeye especially when McCotter was going to be on the show.
That’s Jennifer Granholm, the former Gov. of Michigan......she has NOTHING to do with the story as far as I can tell.
Hopefully the MI. based TEA Party and other conservative groups call rally around Kerry Bentivolio and drive the momentum his way.
