OK fellow Freepers, I'm in need of some assistance. I am constantly getting into debates with liberals I work with who, of course, just love ObamaTaxCare. Like good liberals, when I present them facts demonstrating what a terrible law this is, they simply ignore them.
One problem I have is that when they ask what the Republicans plan is, I'm having some difficulty. I know what the tenets of the Republicans plan would look like, such as tort reform, selling insurance across State lines, high risk pools, etc. Has there been formally been a plan introduced by the GOP or Mittens yet? I have to admit that if they have put one out, I haven't been paying attention as closely as I should be. If they haven't, I definitely think they need to put out something. I don't think just saying we will dump ObamaTaxCare is enough. I believe we need to have something to tell the American Public what will be put in it's place as a viable alternative. Thanks for any assistance!
and yet completely within the right of a state to do
Well yes, this doesn't need reform, except for the part where they jack up your bill to pay for "free healthcare" for some illegal alien. (cost shifting)
This is a major tenet of consumer driven "healthcare", a core position of the GOP.
Who do you think laid out the blueprints for the hottest selling product on the market today?...(Health Savings Accounts)
Can you imagine what the healthcare industry could be if the power of competition were unleashed?
bingo
Thanks, sloop.
This has devastated me. I work in healthcare, and I can see exactly what this will bring.
Ever see the movie “Gettysburg”? There is a scene where General Longstreet looks out at the field across which Pickett’s Charge would take place, and he said something like “I can see it as though it has already happened...”
I feel as though I can see what will happen to our health system. Of course, there are plenty of examples that amply demonstrate that. But what I fear most is the choice I may have to someday make, if I will become a government employee and be part of the union.
I hope to God I can make the right choice without rationalizing the wrong one.
It seems that the Republicans have bought into the Democratic argument that healthcare is a responsibility of the federal government. It is not! Historically, healthcare policies have been up to the states (and to the individual). Things really got screwed up when the feds got involved. We need to return these programs to the states and remove all federal mandates/regulations regarding them. The states are the laboratories of democracy...let them have a go at it!
when a guy that works for me was injured in a car wreck, we all descended on the hospital room - but had a difficult time listening to all his quacking - we had him moved into a suite - so we could ‘be there’ for him while escaping into another room
when we checked him out, i wrote a check for the hospital - which was only 40% of the bill
they gave me 60% off because i paid cash
We have the best health care system in the world.
Let’s not fix something that isn’t broken.
we've had our snit fit - figured out the fit did not fix anything - and now regrouping for another attack
people need to realize that these costs are high for reasons - healthcare will never be cheap
and the much maligned greed argument is foolish - greed creates medical advancements - NOTHING comes out of france or england or france - we are IT - the end of the line - if obamacare stands we will NEVER have a cure for ms - or cancer - or any other disease
that is never pointed out
to be clear - you are every bit as willing to trash the constitution to suit your irrational hate
and clearer - you are the wackjob
It may seem that way to you, but how did you come to that conclusion...the liberal media?
You get it.
People will be getting injected with crushed up apricot pits, if they are lucky and have money.
This is the bill sponsored by Sen. Baucus in 2009 and it's only a couple hundred pages, versus the ObamaTax monstrosity.
Yes, mostly because hospitals are subsidizing "bad debt" and "charity care" with your artificially inflated costs.
one drug costs a billion dollars to bring to market
the ‘charity care’ was mandated by congress
Yeah, that's a whole 'nother can of worms that needs to be addressed...and fixed. Meanwhile, if you want to try an unapproved pharmaceutical, you just need to take a little "medical vacation."
the charity care was mandated by congress
Well, and not to mention the Hippocratic Oath...that's all well and good, but they need to find another way to pay for it besides the legalized extortion they practice now.
so the answer is not repeal and replace - its repeal and repeal and repeal...
Couldn’t have said it better myself!
EXCEPT to add that if pressed for a “plan,” here’s what it should be.
“You pay for your own goddamned health care and I’ll pay for mine.”
If Myth could gather the stones to utter either your version or mine, I might actually be able to get behind him.
Hank
Well, I think that slogan is pretty much political in nature, but I wouldn’t mind seeing those specific free-market reforms put in place.
If you could buy coverage from any state, and found one that allowed total underwriting and gave premium discounts for various health behavior actions...
If you could be in a class of normally healthy people instead of the universe of all people...healthy and terminal...
If there were a cap on malpractice suits...
If you moved to another state and wanted to take your policy with you...
If you could pick or exclude your choice the specific medical coverages you want...
If you could get large group coverage through your NRA membership, or your local credit union...
Wouldn’t you want those provisions enacted?
