NOT TRUE! Only those who actually PAY taxes are slaves. The rest are the slave owners. If you're too lazy to steal, and rely on the government to rob the hard working and send you a check (or an EBT card) then you're not one of the slaves, you're one of the parasites who waxes fat off the labor of others.
I should like to know if taking this old Declaration of Independence, which declares that all men are equal upon principle and making exceptions to it where will it stop. If one man says it does not mean a negro, why not another say it does not mean some other man? If that declaration is not the truth, let us get the Statute book, in which we find it and tear it out! Who is so bold as to do it! If it is not true let us tear it out! let us stick to it then, let us stand firmly by it then.

You may well be correct about that. I believe that his father's tribe speak the language that the Arab slave traders developed to communicate with their fellow participants in the slave trade. That strongly urges for your point.
Of course, no people need to apologize for their historic values. "Slavery," as a popular term for a system that employs labor for which no pay is provided, only subsistance on the lands of another, has existed in one form or another, at some time or another, virtually everywhere on earth. Before the substantial development of circulating currency systems, it was the rule, rather than the exception in early agricultural development. The idea that the descendants of those, once so employed, should hate those who maintained such systems, is not a key to better understanding between peoples and/or subsets of a particular population, but rather an obvious precipitant to social chaos.
But then, Egalitarianism, in virtually any of its manifestations, leads almost inevitably to The Greatest Mischief Ever Wrought.
Those who actually care about mutually beneficial race relations in America, as well as good will in general, would do well to heed the wisdom of Booker T. Washington, rather than the mean spirited "humor" of Chris Rock.

rock is pissed at white people because they are going to toss obama and his “peeps” out into the streets. 5 months crissy, better get your skinny black @ss in the big white house one more time, cauz the show is about over.
If we didn’t have a system of wealth transfer that made the “urban culture” possible,
it wouldn’t exist in 2 generations, 3 max.
The State has been minimizing Independence Day for several decades now. It resembles very little the holiday I remember as a child.
Conveys an unhealthy message from their perspective.

Getting all huffy and offended is counterproductive. It's exactly the reaction they are looking to get.
[ Lincoln who based his anti-slavery ideas on the Declaration of Independence
You are aware Lincoln said, “I will say, then, that I am not, nor have ever been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races ... I am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.” ]
You are aware that Fredrick Douglas once tried to get inn the white house and when being turned away and almost thrown out it was Lincoln who said “That man is a firend of mine, let him stay” and they both talked for a while and that Fredrick Douglas considered Lincoln a friend and vice versa right?
You are aware that Lincoln’s view reflected the culture of white american at the time. And that a majority of the abolishionists shared that view as well. And that several generations later that view faded away to be replaced with the more correct view as more and more people (especially in the north) viewed blacks as equals in ability and spiritually.
You are aware that you are comparing the past using the “lens of the present” which has 20/20 hindisght.
THANK YOU!
This needs to shouted to the Heavens. It's not racist at all to point out this very obvious contradiction in black history. They all complain about a hundred plus years of "oppression," yet the oppression they experienced in the US is NOTHING compared to what they would've been subjected if they'd stayed in Africa. Hell, an overwhelming majority of blacks in the US today would likely not exist if not for slave owners impregnating the black women they owned. Why do you think there are so many black Jeffersons, Jacksons, etc.?
Listen, I'm not trying to play down the brutality of some slave owners or the living conditions, but compared to what they would've lived through in sub-Saharan Africa, America was the Ritz!
Thank you for posting both links.
I have no problem with a black person being in the White House - I have a problem with an idiot socialist being in the White House.
Liberals frequently denigrate the Founding Fathers. They talk about slavery existing and the Founding Fathers allowing for it to continue.
They talk about the 3/5 of a man calculation.
They talk about how the Founding Fathers literally meant that all men, and not women, were created equal.
They talk about how the Founding Fathers enabled settlers to move west and attack/disposess native American Indian tribes, who allegedly lived in peace and harmony with the environment.
And I’ve even heard some radical types talk about how the Founding Fathers didn’t provide for homosexual rights and homosexual marriage.
Because of complaints such as these, because of the fact that the Founding Fathers of the 18th century did not have a liberal 21st century world view, these men are worthless to the liberals of today. Sad but true. The worldview of these liberals is that nothing worthwhile came out of the founding of the United States, because of complaints about slavery, women’s rights, gay rights, and other issues.
Next up — complaints that the Founding Fathers didn’t do enough to fight global warming.

reminder of past injustices
..........................................................
A reminder of past injustices my ass.
What does Chris Rock know about past injustices. This POS is a friggin millionaire from making fun of his own people.
He uses the N-word like a punch line in a cheap black joke.
He IS a cheap black joke.
*&%$ him and the horse he rode in on.
Your post reminds me of how we have seen Christmas devalued and marginalized, to the point of which we’re not supposed to utter the word “Christmas”.
I attended a business meeting on Monday, at which the group leader said there was a holiday this week. And she asked if anyone had any major plans for “Wednesday”. And then she repeated that we should enjoy the holiday.
This person could not bring herself to utter the words “Fourth of July”, or “Independence Day”.
She happens to be young, a “30 something” woman, if that makes any difference.
But that event makes me think that some people are conditioned to think of all holidays as some sort of generic day off, and we’re not supposed to even say the name of particular holidays anymore. And that’s very sad in my opinion.
" I, as well as Judge Douglas, am in favor of the race to which I belong having the superior position. I have never said anything to the contrary, but I hold that, notwithstanding all this, there is no reason in the world why the negro is not entitled to all the natural rights enumerated in the Declaration of Independence-the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I hold that he is as much entitled to these as the white man. I agree with Judge Douglas he is not my equal in many respects-certainly not in color, perhaps not in moral or intellectual endowment. But in the right to eat the bread, without the leave of anybody else, which his own hand earns, he is my equal and the equal of Judge Douglas, and the equal of every living man."
IOW, Lincoln was by our standards a racist. However, he was a racist more than willing to give the black man the basic rights of liberty. And he specifically based these opinions on the Declaration of Independence, which is what the article said.
Racism, like most things, runs on a spectrum from slight to extreme. By our standards Lincoln was probably in the middle at the time he gave this speech, with his opponents over on the extreme end. There is good evidence he moved towards the slight end during the war.
