I am more a true believer in limitations of Federal power than most who call themselves conservatives here. Many of the precidents that allowed this ruling, many by Republicans, I oppose almost alone here. I hated the GWB single mom tax credits. I don't like his or Obama’s geen energy tax credits. I don't just flip my positions because the WH changes party. Romney isn't running against any of that either.
But now that Roberts refused to do Republicans job for them, Romney running for POTUS has to be able to explain SPECIFICALLY why Obama-care is so bad at the Federal but SPECIFICALLY good in MA as he has been forced to claim. He is not going to get away with trying it avoid the subject as he is trying too. It's too big an issue now and it's a huge part of his record to try to bury.
Romney needs to explain SPECIFICALLY : 'Why does Obama-care kill jobs but Romney-care doesnt?' or he will get creamed in the debates.
mittens is a sitting duck *if* there are indeed any debates to be endured...
likewise sick, i believe that both fed and state have different sets of limitations to their authorized powers, but neither have lived within them in generations, and the lines are too blurred for the masses to comprehend the generalities, much less the specifics of bambamcare vs its older twin brother at the state level...
first mittens would have to convince people that he wouldnt have done it differently then the bamster at the fed level in the first place, which his progressive, big gubmint heart doesnt show anyways...
in 08, even a weak empty suit like mcqueeeeeg, i believed would mash an overtly liberal, racist, and anti-American b hussein into the ground on election day, and it wasnt even close with the electorate...
today, even tho a few of his minions have jumped ship, the base is doubling down, and the mushy middle is even more disconnected and indifferent than 4 yrs ago...
mittens doesnt stand a snowballs prayer in hell, so i have even less motivation to hold my nose and damn my principles than ever...
Heh, heh. Well, let me compete with you here: I think the main job of the FedGov is to protect our borders and, at a high level, protect us from our selves (keep the states within the federal Constitution. I understand they only way they were able to get a federal highway system federally financed was to say it was for the movements of our troops but the rest of us could use it in the meantime.
I’m also against almost all tax credits/deductions, e.g. the mortgage interest deduction. One thing I liked about what Reagan did with taxes was reduce the rate the rich paid but also remove a sh**load of deduction loopholes. I’d like to see that expanded on.

And that is why I laughed when people would argue that of the Republican camp, Romney was the most electable. I still do, in a sort of “looks like I need to be committed” sort of way.
“Romney needs to explain SPECIFICALLY : Why does Obama-care kill jobs but Romney-care doesnt?”
LOL, they are not the same. Romneycare is only 70 pages long and Obamacare has 2,700 pages.
There’s a survey out by the chamber of commerce saying that 2 out of 3 business owners are less likely to hire new employees because of Obamacare.
A similar survey in Massachussets showed that Romneycare had no impact in their hiring decisions (it only affects about 6% of the population).
