I think you’re wanting to get into a Religious Forum discussion now. SO ... please do start one up, about the particular issue and topic you have, and ping me to join you. I’ll be glad to do it.
OK, so you’re mad and not making any sense.
Fine.
Have at it.
You dance real pretty but you're not quite quick enough. And I didnt call him a good-for-nothing or an idiot or a fool or Raca.
That is EXACTLY what you did! And more!
you know that there are Christians who are Bible-believing, Evangelical (and perhaps Dispensational) - who are going to say that Catholic teachings are DOCTRINES FROM HELL and are going to lead those who believe in that straight into the Devils hands.
Shame on you. And now you are making excuses, post after post trying to justify what you did.
I love Jesus and I ain't buying it.
I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.
Of course, many people say many things about themselves on the Internet, sometimes not altogether true.
If that is the case here, then Quix is merely a liar.
I vote for BOTH!
You caused a believer grievous hurt. On purpose. Now you are trying to justify that. There is none. We are done.
“I dont know if HumbleGunners place in Texas is far enough from the coast...”
Although Humble Gunner has never talked to me (is that good or bad), I have deduced that he may live not far from me so he is fairly far away from the gulf. He will feel hurricanes that come in at Galveston, just like I do.
Don’t know what Quix thinks is going to happen to Texas but it would have to be major to put this area of Texas under water.
Humble Gunner, if you don’t live in my area, please don’t dump on me for thinking you do. I definitely don’t want to get on your bad side. Besides, I don’t have a blog.
Sorry Onyx...my reference was to Quix. Not to your husband.
If I recall correctly, I once saw a Quix post where he said he was completely insolvent and was living with his parents. I never saw the claim of him being a psychologist. Imma call bovine excrement on that one.
You’re already on it! :^)
You’re already on it, FRiend! :^)
Seems you are the only one on FR today making any sense, eh, lost tater?
If I recall correctly, I once saw a Quix post where he said he was completely insolvent and was living with his parents. I never saw the claim of him being a psychologist. Imma call bovine excrement on that one.
He referred to his PhD in Psychology credentials numerous times (while accusing others of making “Type II errors” and other wild projections). Never heard about him living with his parents, but he did claim to be broke several times. And asexual.
I have run across a few of Quix' posts through the years. IMO they are ALL questionable. I think he is an alcoholic, possibly a dry drunk and showing all kinds of symptoms of it including a huge case of grandiosity.
See, if Quix can do long distance psychology so can I!
“Posters who are offended when anyone condemns or ridicules their deeply held religious belief ..”
~ ~ ~ ~
I know, I know. You’re restating: ‘don’t go there.’ I get it .. I won’t go, but here’s a prime example of just that kind of ugly, hurtful rhetoric from StarTraveler engendered even on this, an opus thread, where he/she felt free to fling that rank nastiness on a thread that just touched on the subject when I naively offered my observations. It’s beyond the pale .. ugly, offensive and totally unnecessary.
The subject is obviously too naturally highly charged and personal.
Again, I absolutely don’t get the inherent common sense or positives to be gained for the FR community as a whole to provide a religious debates section, when folks of faith are already well convicted in their beliefs at this age, and as it clearly, implicitly embodies such a predictably high likelihood for inflammatory rhetoric, inter-forum rancor and resentments.
And the bad blood and resentments do spill over into the other threads, as we all know, which can get contentious enough.
It seems particularly destructive, especially in these very tough times, when multitudes of overwhelmingly deadly serious issues are coming at us every single day from THEM on the outside to punish and damage us and our beloved country. Why do we voluntarily need another festering source for more ugliness here, too?
Call me foolish but I don’t think I’m being a Pollyanna, wishing, as much as possible, and I would dearly hope and pray, that we could still mostly find sanctuary and respite with our family here as we’ve counted on... to be lifting up, brainstorming, having some fun, and helping each other together be factually informed and promote a mostly united, cooperative, congenial, inspirational, friendly and helpful atmosphere here.
Most FReepers with whom I’ve engaged in my nearly 14 yrs here are simply THE best, most decent, patriotic, fun, most savvy and wonderful folks in the world, and I’d totally choose them as, and some are, friends in real life. It is and has absolutely been my home on the web.
The bonding of folks here by shared political and social conservative beliefs, community history together, positivity, empathy, fun, generosity, unity .. which is the very opposite of the tension and disagreements and all the negatives spawned on those faith debates and the attendant spillover battles. That good stuff is what keeps folks coming back, feeling comfortable here and like this IS their home on the web they support and are proud to promote.
Just my 2 cents, knowing we’re all flawed and imperfect, to say I think it would help so much to see more occasions for collegiality and civility, less for internal conflict, for these days and the days, months and years ahead in this scary, tempestuous and uncertain world by keeping the FReeper family strong and together in basic good will.
Simply said: first do no harm.
Jim, please consider my heartfelt comments. Thank you SO much and your crew for FR, for all the interesting and wonderful years I’ve enjoyed here. God bless you always for your service to our country and for ALL you’ve done and do for us for the cause of freedom and our blessed America. God protect you and keep you strong and healthy always. Long live FR into a future of robust vitality for a hundred years!
Maybe you can help me then. I think I am losing it. I am having hallucinations that a bunch of conservatives around me are campaigning for a guy that funded abortion and created gay marriage in some eastern state...
I mean that’s crazy right? No conservative would ever do something that clearly insane...so it must be me.
Help me ObiWan! You’re my only hope!
I don't know, of course, but I hope and expect that all of the people I listed will have long and productive careers in politics,
Why on earth should we have to wait eight years rather than just four to put someone like Scott Walker in the White House?
I am campaigning for Romney this year because I think that four more years of Obama will cause significantly more damage to our country and to conservatism as compared to the first four years of a Romney Presidency. Obamacare, leftist judges, "green energy", disarmament and surrender, etc. The damage is real, it's happening now, and Congress can't really stop Obama from continuing it. If Romney is as terrible as his detractors here say he will be, I still think he will be no worse than Obama, and we can primary him in 2016.
Your strategy of putting RINOs in the White House has repeatedly failed, moved the nation to the left and resulted in the careers of rising conservatives to snuffed out.
I have no such strategy. My strategy is to support the most conservative candidate who has a chance of winning in every race always. There is nothing remarkable or new about this strategy, and I do not think it has moved the country to the left or stopped rising conservatives. It is the leftists who have done this, both those who admit they are 'Rats and the RINOs.
The way to deal with RINOs is to replace them with conservatives whenever you can. Replacing them with leftists is what moves the country to the left.
It sounds like you want to get into a Religious Forum discussion - at which spot they have some VERY GOOD GUIDELINES and I appreciate those guidelines as they are EXCELLENT. But you just don’t want to go over there and discuss it. So ... if you change your mind ... just ping me ... :-)
well, bye.
