You are deluded.
What Roberts said about the commerce clause has no bearing on it whatsoever. It was meaningless babble and it set no case law whatsoever.
It doesn’t matter at all if people are happy or unhappy, they are slaves of the us federal government from this point on.
It doesn’t matter how hard anyone works to get rid of Obama, or if he is even gotten rid of, because you can’t get rid of the precedent that Roberts did set, and that is that it is constitutional for the government to compel behavior or non behavior via taxation.
There is NO WAY to get rid of that now.
And considering that, why would any future congress vote to remove Obamacare? They can do whatever the Hell they want, anytime they want, and there isn’t a damn thing any of us slaves can do about it. The federal government doesn’t ever vote to remove any portion of power from itself, nor can the unlimited power granted to it by Roberts be removed, so the result is-
WE ARE DONE.
About the only thing we can do now is boat over to Antartica and make a new country there and try not to wreck it with our stupidity next time.
If it is your opinion that giving the Federal government the power to tax whatever they want, however much they want for whatever reason they want until a more intelligent Chief Justice helps overturn said ruling is 'playing chess at a high level', then perhaps you play using only the rooks.
Where did you get that idea?? From Faux news and bag-of-wind Oreilly??
Mark Levin and other legal scholars have explained in very great detail that the Commerce Clause HAS NOT BEEN TOUCHED AT ALL.
We are all white-hot angry. Nothing upsets me more than Freepers assuming there is any good in what Robert's did. IT IS ALL BAD.
Levin explained that it will take many decades to reverse the precedent set by the evil Roberts.
Just on today's show, Mark Levin stated that Roberts tried to convince Kennedy to switch sides and vote 6-3 to utterly crush the Constitution The italics are almost a direct quote from Levin.
Again to repeat Roberts is an evil human being who's decision will cause untold misery to millions of Americans.
Robert's playing chess??? You must listen to inside the beltway elitists.
Please go back and listen to Mark's show from Thursday and Friday. He carefully and thoughtfully goes through the ruling in great detail. Mark is a brilliant Constitutional scholar.
He says there is NO silver-lining. He says it is the most horrible of rulings. It was quite educational listening to Levin. He will help you see just how horrible is this ruling.
Robert's was not playing chess at all, he was be a purely political animal.
On today's show Levin explains the how's and why's of Robert's decision. It will only leave you white-hot angry at Roberts.
Levin and other things I have read have left me convinced that Robert is truly an evil human being. No person with any heart could have done what Robert's did.
To be Chief Justice and do what he did to the Constitution is evil.
>>Judge Roberts intended to kill 3 birds with one stone.
After looking at the ruling, I think the same. Obama is furiously trying to get people to “get over it” and they’re not going to.
“an offer you can’t refuse” meets “malicious obedience” perhaps?
RUSH today really shot down that theory that`s going around...ie Roberts playing chess, while others playing checkers (all you said)
Roberts just showed that he is unfit for office, nothing more
What you say has crossed my mind but there are just too many factors that indicate such was not Robert’s intention. Recall the intentionally botched oath Obama took and the subsequent private chambers swearing in without the Bible. Recall the infamous photo of Obama being cozy with justices in Roberts’ chambers. Recall that Roberts is a good friend of Haass who runs The Council of Foreign Relations. Think about the fact that Roberts was a Bush appointee and Bush was the one who proclaimed that there was a ‘new world order’ coming and I don’t recall either Bush saying anything negative about Obamacare. The situation might well turn as you listed but if it does I will not believe Roberts planned it that way.
i actually think your right on this. And thus why the comment that the supreme court was not there to protect the people from their political decisions.
That is very much like the opinion Bob Tyrrell wrote today in The American Spectator. Comparing Roberts to CJ John Marshall in Marbury v. Madison, a rather silly case that Marshall used to implement the principle of Judicial Review, which saved Federalism, and the Court.
Roberts may have save saved the future of the Constitution, while ObamaCare is unworkable and cannot be implemented. Roberts left it up to we, the people to throw it, and him out in November.
My thoughts on this decision have gone back and forth since last week, but now leaning very much to the positive good that Roberts has done in limiting expansion of Federal power under the commerce clause.
We must get over our differences and vote in November to get him out of the White House. NOBAMA!
