They think it's free. They're confident that the govt will ensure they are provided only the best care for them. Remember that many of these people are young and have never been subjected to govt administered health care delivery such as Medicaid or Mediscare. So they have no frame of reference; just as they support the King even as they're mired in joblessness with little hope for a change. Go figure.
I'm less concerned about the escalating prices than I am about the degraded quality of care that's inevitable as demand skyrockets and scarcity of resources (and supply of providers) rears its ugly head, and no honest or informed person disagrees with that forecast.

If we still had a draft, there would have been the experience of military socialized medicine. Having to call for limited appointments, poorly trained enlisted specialists. What made it viable was military discipline and pride. That won’t be part of socialized medicine.
