It's a penalty. It's a penalty. It's a penalty. This is what White House officials are arguing despite Thursday's Supreme Court ruling on ObamaCare classifying the healthcare legislation as....a tax. Friday White House Press Secretary argued ObamaCare isn't a tax, but a penalty. Today, White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew argued the same thing. Remember, ObamaCare was "sold" or shoved down the throats of the American people as a penalty to avoid the Obama administration looking like President Obama was raising taxes on everyone.
The White House insisted Sunday the consequence for Americans not having health insurance is a penalty fee, despite the Supreme Court ruling that it is a tax and said the debate on the Affordable Care Act should finally end.
White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew said on Fox News Sunday that “when the Supreme Court rules” the country “has a final decision” and that the presidential campaigns should focus on the economy and jobs.
“What we need to do is go forward with the implementation” of the law, Lew said.WH Chief Of Staff Spends 5 Minutes Struggling To Explain How ObamaCare Isn't A Tax

They’re spinning so fast they should be dizzy by now.
Spin, spin, spin, drain, drain, bye-bye.
We now live in an era when the federal government can do whatever it wants and call it anything it wants to call it.
If it is not a tax then ObamaKare is not legal as defined by SCOTUS and can’t be implemented.
Case closed.
Obama Admin changes TAX to PENALTY , try fool the people by changing WORDS LOL
The whole Dem spin is it is a penalty for the middle class and a tip from the 1%.
Theyre spinning so fast they should be dizzy by now.
If you remember Nixon’s ‘wage and price freeze’, it wasn’t long before they had the same product, just new and improved so they could ‘raise’ the price, several ‘new’ cuts of meat were invented etc and if you wanted a raise all you had to do was ‘quit’ and get hired back to the same job for more money when rehired....
Yes, Nixon was probably the ‘original’ RINO but he was only the 2nd R in my lifetime, with Ike being the 1st.
Aw, if they didn’t want it to be law in the first place, they shouldn’t have passed it, yes?
My head hurts.
What would anyone whose sperm donor was a commie maggot from Kenya know about anything? If the Supreme Court says it’s a tax, IT’S A TAX.
Just say "NO" to the Oboma tax.
No new entitlement programs!
Just following the lead of Roberts in his opinion. First, it wasn’t a tax and then it was a tax.
The Washington spin machine is going to reverse the magnetic poles!
Obama is defying SCOTUS by calling it a penalty, they abhor it being labeled EXACTLY what it is...
A TAX
For the last few years, the White House and Congress had been telling us this was a penalty. At the same time, the White House lawyers were arguing to the Supreme Court (out of necessity) that it was a tax.
They’re trying to have it both ways, and should be called on it.
I’m not holding my breath.
And doesn’t every TAX bill have to originate in the House? IIRC, Obamacare DID NOT—and thus the passage of it was a usurpation of power by the Senate. This is a fact that MUST be trumpeted by the Pubs— loud and clear!
I have a question:
People with children get a per-child tax break. Those of us without children pay full tax.
So, is the White House saying that I’m paying an unwritten penalty for not having my own children?
Or is it that I’m just paying full tax and people with children are not assessed a penalty fee?
I’m......so confused. What the hell is going on, here?
“This is a fact that MUST be trumpeted by the Pubs loud and clear!”
I hate to mention this to you but the republican leadership helped pass the healthcare bill, and I mean the leadership in both houses.
The republicans WANTED this bill to pass just as much as the democrats.
Ya can’t have it be a tax to make it legal, but not a tax to not be a tax increase. I guess ol’ Obama just likes to have it both ways. Just saying.
